Cliff Burton. He was better than anyone on the face of the earth. Listen to Master Of Puppets and you will see why.Vilot_Hero
If you're going with Metallica I have to say Robert Trujilllo is better.

He has some really good skill(Probably better than Geddy Lee), but Cliff created Master Of Puppets.

Cliff Burton. He was better than anyone on the face of the earth. Listen to Master Of Puppets and you will see why.Vilot_Hero

Metallica really isn't too fond of bass players aside from Cliff. They always seem to keep the volume of that instrument rather low. That is the case with Death Magnetic.

I think it is. AJFA is second, and the Black Album is third.

Cliff Burton. He was better than anyone on the face of the earth. Listen to Master Of Puppets and you will see why.Vilot_Hero

Guess what?Metallica have had bumps along the road, just ask Cliff,And they aren't that great now.Plus Master Of Puppets is darn good. But there's better out there.Peace Sells has a better bass line than Master Of Puppets. Oh and I take no credit for the bumpy road joke.

Cliff Burton. He was better than anyone on the face of the earth. I think it is. AJFA is second, and the Black Album is third.I still think Trujillo is better than Cliff, although Cliff was great but not the greatest.
As for my favorite Bassist I have to say that I don't have one.
The thing with Trujillo is that he didn't get an oppurtunity to show it on Death Magnetic.I could hardly hear his bass on that.On rare occasions that he solos at live shows is where you see his skill.I still think Trujillo is better than Cliff, although Cliff was great but not the greatest.

I don't really know who's best because I dont't know them all, but my favorite is a solo bassist on youtube, Zander4724 is the account name. He's got some great songs.
Edit: I just tried out the Master Of Puppets bass line. I like the way it sounds, but it's extremely simple, anyone who knows how to play can play it.

Yea it was pretty hard to hear the bass, I wish they would make songs like Peace Sells or Hook In Mouth where you can clearly hear it.
Hey Vilot_Hero,do you know for what track is Cliff remembered for his bass playing skills? It's not Master Of Puppets.Harshvardhan666
Even I know this one.
Anesthesia Pulling teeth
You got it.But it's not from the MoP album so it sucks,am I right?Harshvardhan666
Whoa you got him there.

I think it is. AJFA is second, and the Black Album is third.Ride the lightning was def there best, then justice, puppets and kill em all. the fact that you put black album in your list means your one of "those" metallica fans and there oppinion is invalid. you dont go past there first four, its blasphemy!as for bassist i will again say billy sheehan
um he didnt play bass....???:? duff did.Slash ftw!

Sorry,Didn't see bass.
Flea, also appearing in Back to the Future only adds to his greatness.KG86Cliff is better...Have you listened to Master Of Puppets? It has the greatest bass track in the world. It represents true metal.

Was Cliff in Back to the Future?
What does Back To The Future have anything to do with music?
Cliff is better...Have you listened to Master Of Puppets? It has the greatest bass track in the world. What does Back To The Future have anything to do with music? Nothing. It has to do with probably being in the best movie of all time.

Cliff is better...Have you listened to Master Of Puppets? Was Cliff in Back to the Future?
What does Back To The Future have anything to do with music?Everything, that film shows when rock n roll music was first introduced to the public.
But seriously Flea is an impressive bass player because a lot of RHCP's music is centred around his bass playing, which not a lot of bands do or can achieve.
That's not what the topic is about.Vilot_HeroIt's not also about Cliff Burton as he is not the best bass guitarist. And yes,I have heard Master Of Puppets.

Metallica could do that. Master Of Puppets and Battery are the best bass tracks out there. Please Log In to post.
