How do you ask for your steak to be cooked when you go to a restaurant?

Medium to Medium Well at a Restaurant. If my wife or dad cook them, Medium-Rare because they know exactly how I like them.
I can probably guess everybody here does not know the correct criteria for "well done" "medium-rare" etc...
However, I do and I like any meat that I am going to eat, well done.

I guess I should specify how you ask for it at a restaurant.
I love filet mignon and prime rib medium rare if I am in a reputable restaurant, if I am in some hole in the wall place, I usually ask for medium.
medium rare, in case they under do it. otherwise, a steak that's red in the middle doesn't bother me. yet, steak tartare is way under for me.
Rare, or as my uncle once put it, "bleeding". More tender, flavorful, and juicy that way, and more of the flavoring is kept. Grilled preferred over broiled.
Medium to well-done, unless it's a proper steak place, where you practically have to get them to burn it to make sure you don't get salmonella (and so that any tampons stand out).
usually rare, or medium rare if I dont trust the restaurant (I dont wanna worry aboutt eating raw steak :P)
Medium rare, still bleeding but not too much. I feel like anything over medium is just a waste of a steak. I think you might as well have a burger at that point.
Medium :) Never tried a rare steak, I want to but whenever I see blood on my food I wanna spew :|

If you're going to try one medium rare, I recommend a prime rib, the color may throw you off because prime rib is a little pinker than other cuts even when cooked, but the flavor and tenderness will be undeniably good, I'd also recommend a filet mignon.
