I predict The Beatles will win.

I like The Beach Boys better. :D
The Beatles were more important, obviously, but I don't really like most of their songs, especially after they started getting weird.
It's funny how everyone is saying "OMG if u dont say beatles ur an idiot" when the thread is clearly about which one you prefer.
All the people saying "Beatles, no contest." have probably heard about 3 Beach Boys songs.
I would however choose The Beatles, but they were both phenomenons and pushed music production and album structure further than anyone prior to them.
66-67 Goes to the Beach Boys. Even when the Beatles were at their prime, they were simply out shined by Brian Wilson. Theres no contest. But Brian snapped and went insane, so anything other then 66-67 goes to the Beatles. If Brian had stayed consistent and released SMiLE in 67, it would be a different story.
After carefully reading all the posts, I've come to the conclusion that none of you have heard Pet Sounds or SMiLE. Which is ridiculous. You can't decide once you've heard both.
Pet Sounds > Any Beatles album. Yeah, and SMiLE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pet Sounds.[QUOTE="kurtoronie"]

Pet Sounds > Any Beatles album. That's a tough call, it's definitely on the level, as that dude stated Wilson screwed it all up by hitting the sack for a solid year, now we can only wonder what might have been.[QUOTE="kurtoronie"]

Pet Sounds > Any Beatles album. Yeah, and SMiLE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pet Sounds. Hold it just a gosh darn minute! When I got SMiLE, I was like, "35+ years for this?" I thought it was overall a disappointment.I've been listening to the Beach Boys my whole life because my dad listens to them all the time. I've heard those two and i still prefer the Beatles. It doesn't make them better, its just a matter of personal preference. After carefully reading all the posts, I've come to the conclusion that none of you have heard Pet Sounds or SMiLE. Both are great but the Beatles are gonna win this one. SOOO many of there songs have been great hits.WarEagle1357
Same with the beach boys. You have to remember, back when both were around the Beach Boys were the biggest thing on the plannet. The Beatles, while also great, are extremely trendy right now with today's youth.

They were both VERY popular during their time and much better than anything around today, but I think the Beatles' hits were slightly better imo and even though the Beach Boys had some amazing songs(Good Vibrations, Fun Fun Fun, etc) the Beatles just had more.[QUOTE="Pirate700"]
