Poll: What do you name your game characters?

What do you name your gaming character when you have the option to do so?

Why do people feel the need to post gaming related crap in a non gaming forum?

If I can, I name them something Tolkien-esque. Sorenah Ironarrow is my Guild Wars ranger name. Another is Something Of The Spear. 'Something' isn't the name, I just forgot.

My name usually, or it's a random name and then i look back six months later and I'm like WTF was a i thinking when i made up that.

Once upon a time Link was Uberman and Epona was Concord. :P

I name the main character my own name and leave the rest defaults.

Usually I name my toon Kutless. If it's taken and I have the option of using two, Kutless Desol. It's very RPGish sounding and I really like the band with the same name.

But in answer to the question, I'll name the character Luke, but if I play it through again, I name them Johnson. :?

Well if its Zelda or FF I name them their normal names.

If its an MMO or some other game where a character's name is not intergral to the story I name them Hambo or Grampi.

i always do the default, or proper character name. it sorta takes you out of the whole experience if someone in the game says HEY JASON or whatever, when you know the actual character to be named Link, or what have you... plus you dont want to come back to a save file years later and find some gamer handle you dont even use anymore that you cant changekappareign

Usually for RPGs I keep their regular names unless there is't one, in which I name them some form of "Niro", and once I named it Jeero. Aside from that, I will call the my name.
