24.4, but i guessed my weight as realistically as possible. pis3rch
As long as you tried to be realistic we'll let it slide :D
18.8. I would like to gain more weight, but it's so hard. =[ff7fan2
I send you a jealous facepalm. I wish it was hard for me to gain weight, I love food but can't express my love all the time in fear of ending up like Jabba the Hutt.
22.2 - Normal. But I fooled it, because I'm really a ghost living inside a computer, other, etc.... muhahahahaaaaaRotaryRX7
So you're the one person who voted "Other"?
[QUOTE="CBR600-RR"]Read my earlier post about why it fails I am 6-1, 205 lbs, little fat and I got a 27 = any basketball player, basball, football all obese according to thisMine says 28.. this can't be accurate. I'm not even overweight :?

Ah I didn't read any other posts except for the OP, ah well, it does indeed fail. :P
Yes, BMI tests are flawed for that reason. Maybe if no one had muscle mass it would work better, but that's not the case for at least some people.27.0
But I am mostly muscle, little fat
-that is the problem with this...does not take muscle into account...almost all pro athletes would be obese
-developed my math guy not nutrition guy = FAIL

No, it's actually correct...check this guide: http://www.vertex42.com/Files/ideal-weight-chart.pdf (requires PDF viewer)

The first paragraph says that IT IS USING THE BMI INDEX to calculate Ideal Weight
-so using failed formula to prove something = fail

here is what it says: The table below shows the ideal weight calculated using these formulas as well as the weight associated with the Body Mass Index (BMI)[QUOTE="rawsavon"][QUOTE="Blubadox"]

Buddy, muscles don't indicate fitness.
That was never my argument.
There are plenty of people with lots of muscles that are 1. out of shape and 2. Fat
MY ARGUMENT was that this is a flawed index (developed by a math guy...which I am as well...have no business making up body health formula)
Question:
I am 6-1, 205
NFL DB's are also about this size (they are incredibly fit, usually fastest guys on the field)
Would you classify them as fat?
This Index would, that is why it fails

so should I sue my gym instructor? :P ...I mean I don't intend to do body building or fulfill some special creteria- I always keep my weight below 178lb.
