This reminds me of that film, Habemus Papam. Good on him. Does this mean we're at last going to get a gay black pope?

The only bad thing is that I will have to listen to this be reported on the news over and over again like its important. It's almost as annoying as that royal wedding thing.

The Catholic Church needs some serious revisions to their belief system. Some of it is so antiquated, it's laughable at times. That, and the whole child molestation cover-up thing.

His successor will, of course, be the very last pope, as predicted by St Malachy.

The End is nigh indeed.

The Mayans were off by at most a few months.

After examining his conscience before God, he said in a statement that reverberated around the world on the Internet and on social media, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of his position as head of the worlds one billion Roman Catholics.

Good for him.  Getting out before he goes senile (or more senile, I dont know).

I hope this sets a new precedent, nobody should be holding that kind of power with health issues at the of 85.  It's probably a good thing for the church anyway, Benedict was far too scandal-ridden to be taken with any great amount of respect.  Also this guy on the left is apparently one of the favorites to fill the position:

wonder if he'll have bananas thrown at him Mario Belotelli style.

Big lol. Sh*t, the reason Benedict was chosen is because he had basically been JPII's right hand.

Having to deal with the pedophilia culture of the catholic church would wear anyone out.
