Popular directors you don't care for?

For me: The Coen Brothers, Stanley Kubrick, Christopher Nolan (more his writing than directing)

I did like Full Metal Jacket though, but that was pretty much the only Kubrick film I cared for. I liked the book version of Clockwork Orange, but damn I think I only liked 1 scene in the movie.

Lars von Trier - He's a pretentious, narcissist, misogynist madman who will go out of his way to be controversial and seems to be proud of it! He actually had the nerve to declare himself the greatest filmmaker in the world. I was nearly physically sick watching Antichrist - it made my bottom 10 list!! Worst of all, we probably have at least another 20 years of this fiend to endure!

Danny boyle should be tied down and beaten.

But i on the other hand, love Kubrick. He revolutionised movie making and we should all be thanking him, IMO

Ok yeah him too. I honestly did not get the big hoolah about any of the Star Wars movies. To me, there are so many better Sci Fi movies out there. And I think the only other film he directed was American Graffitti. I heard he didn't even direct Star Wars V and VI?

I agree with you as well saying there are much better Sci Fi movies out there than Star Wars. I don't mind the films but I am not really a fan.

Michael Bay is the worst. I can't tell if he actually likes his work, or just hopes the youth of America will get off on it. His work is despicable.

Watch this and then try to tell me Reservoir Dogs is the best film ever. Not to mention the fact that Tarantino denies ever seeing the previous flick...

I have seen city on fire, and it is very good.

But the truth is, the majority of the mainstream market hadn't seen it. (i don't believe QT hadn't seen it, being a cinophile and working in a vid store) but there is absolutely nothing wrong with paying homage to another movie, or even taking it's ideas, and making them into something mainstream.

It's no different to Scorscese making The Departed and NOT calling it a remake, which it quite blatently is.

Michael Bay is the worst. I can't tell if he actually likes his work, or just hopes the youth of America will get off on it. His work is despicable.
