Making a thread on a particular, valuable member seems like a much better focus. In this way, we are not given spontaneous, asinine roll call duplicates by a particular group of users.
That said, t3hrubikscube is absolutely deserving of an entire board of her own, though a thread will have to suffice for the time being. She is kind, intelligent, and easily one of the best posters I've come into contact with.
One can only hope. Popularity threads usually become quite entertaining after the first few hundred praising posts.Singling out certain users for praise will only end badly I think.

Yes. Someone always has to come along and...crash the party...
I've never actually spoken to her, but I do like her quite a bit from what I've seen on OT. I find her as one of the nicer and more intellgient users, and one who I respect even more as a female.
Would she have still gotten an appreciation thread had she not been popular? InEMpleaseSure, this thread is influenced by my opinion of her and her posts, and only that.

[QUOTE="comp_atkins"]isn't that what the otcars are for?TELLMEYOURLIFENo idea, what are the OTcars? basically an awards show for favorite / popular users..
Would she have still gotten an appreciation thread had she not been popular? Seems to me this appreciation thread would be similar to the popularity ones, except more boring.
InEMplease
No, she's getting this thread because she's a valuable poster, as opposed to spamming ":P" emotes everywhere while making every single thread in existence about herself. Which is how most people end up on the "cool kids" list.
[QUOTE="comp_atkins"]isn't that what the otcars are for?TELLMEYOURLIFENo idea, what are the OTcars? Strange, you seemed to know the capitalisation perfectly for someone who has no idea what they are. :P Anyways I like your idea and I agree with your choice of t3hrubikscube, shes a very nice person. :)

This entire forum is designed as a monument of appreciation for my contributions. Therefore, it wouldn't be apropos for me to also have specific threads heralding my proficiency.FragStainsYour proficiency is subliminally celebrated in each breath this forum takes.
Let the other petty people have their temporary glory, lost in their delusions of prominence and gratification.
!!!!

Well, I never!
I see no difference between a popularity thread and an appreciation thread. People will mention who they like in both.SolidSnake35Not if the entire thread was about the same person.
This is a tricky one. On the one hand I like to pretend not to visit these threads and always say I hate them with a passion, but on the other... it's T3hrubikscube. :S
Ah, what the hell. To a user worth being a hypocrite for twice in one day. :D
To T3hrubikscube!

I suppose... but then when someone disagrees with the person mentioned, arguments will follow. It would have to be a weekly thing also.. actually it reminds me of "the lounge" that someone did. Each week was a new user and the thread was simply an opportunity for people to ask them questions.
I'll drink to that! Cheers. This is a tricky one. On the one hand I like to pretend not to visit these threads and always say I hate them with a passion, but on the other... it's T3hrubikscube. :S

There's a simple conclusion to this dilema. That being, if you're going to be an ass about the user who is being appreciated, don't post.

I guess ShuLordLiuPei (I searched for his name) lost interest... or OT lost interest maybe. It had a good run.
