Holy crap! Someone else who knows who Elvenking are!
Every band I listen to is underrated IMO haha. But top pick would have to be Wintersun.

Wintersun is ridiculously overrated in my opinion. They were nothing special back in 2004 but they became extremely popular and well-liked by a lot of people (probably just because of Jari).[QUOTE="RobboElRobbo"][QUOTE="Agent-Zero"]The BeatlesAgent-Zero
Wow
I'm kidding you knowDang, that ruins the fun
[QUOTE="Darthkaiser"]MuseDark__LinkJoke? The thread title is "is or WAS" too underrated. Looking at their older stuff, and Showbiz especially, many reviewers were saying that they were just Radiohead wannabes that probably wouldn't be around for long. But if the other guy thinks they still are underrated, he's wrong.
UGK:
They got mainstream in the mid 00s when they started to suck hardcore.
It seems like no one has listened to there mid 90s stuff which was some of the best rap ever created.
I loved how there songs were really gangsta, but they had this deep southern drawl, and alot of there beats had church organs and funk in them.
Pretty innovative and original.

Streetlight Manifesto. They are one of my all time favorite bands because their music is so accessible. I have yet to find a person who hates them after giving at least one of their songs a listen. Sure, some people aren't into their sound, but they're almost impossible to hate :P

[QUOTE="Lockedge"]I would say Beach Boys, because these days, no one looks back on them like people do The Beatles or Rolling Stones, or whatever, when they're certainly worthy of equal hype. However, because they're such a formerly popular band, I'll go with Big Star. ThirteenIn The Street, a song they're not known for, even though the track was covered for That 70's Show's intro. September GurlsBIG-BOSSMAN? There still very popular. The reason they are not on the same pedestal as Rolling Stones and Beatles is because they can't hold a candle to them. Far from underrated. Quite overrated IMO.
Meh, i guess to each their own, I guess. All I know is that no one talks about the Beach Boys anymore. People think they're a joke band, a guilty pleasure these days, while TRS and The beatles are heralded as rock gods or something. I can see the argument for The Beatles to be up on a pedestal, but I always found the stones to be rather underwhelming and undeserving of the hype they got. They're great songwriters, but were rather bland IMO. The beach Boys had a string of excellent pop albums(I think that's the thing...people see pop as less authentic and worthy of praise), and Brian Wilson is arguably the most important american musician in the era of popular music. If not #1, in the top 3. Personally, I think the only place they get credit is in magazines like (oddly enough) Rolling Stone, where they get credit on their top albums of all time list for Pet Sounds...and even that I've heard readily criticized by people these days.
I mean, Brian Wilson was a large reason why The Beatles(and McCartney specifically) pushed themselves into new territory, trying to one up Wilson in the studio and in sound. If it wasn't for Mike Love, i'm pretty sure the beach Boys would have been much bigger than they were, because SMILE would have been released in full.
But I guess that's just my take. I just think they deserve a place in history worthy of their creative input, and if the Rolling Stones and The ebatles are in the upper echelons, there's no way the beach Boys shouldn't be right beside them.

But if the other guy thinks they still are underrated, he's wrong. Back in the day people were not very fond of muse, as you said, Radiohead wannabes among other stuff. Right now Muse is one of the best bands not only in Europe but in the whole World[QUOTE="Dark__Link"][QUOTE="Darthkaiser"]Musevaultboy_ninja
