As he said, I would also reccomend the new Creative Zen over the ipod and the Zune because of it's price.

Creative has one but as far as 60+ goes id stick with the Zune 80 or iPod 80

my zune 80 with the customized back (free when you order directly from microsoft)

Same here. The 2nd gen Zune is great but the damned thing needs a Mass Storage mode that doesn't require registry hacking.

i know. i'm only using about 5 gigs right now. the only way i can think of filling it up is by putting all my movies on it or if ms let us use it as an external hdd.

Rockbox is an open source firmware for the ipod and other mp3 players. It gives you more options for playing back music and has support for more sound codecs including flac and ogg.

Id advise you look into rockbox before ipodlinux, its a bit easier to get to grips with.
