I was watching random bad stuff on youtube from the AP, like cops attacking innocent people and what have you not when I found an interesting video.
After watching the video, I was reminded, that despite all the scary stories the media feeds us, there are still good people out there.
The full story, the link is here, was about a robber, robbing a store with a bat. The store owner pulls out a good (not loaded) and the robber drops his bat and pleads for his life, telling the owner how he has lost his job and is trying to feed his family. The store owner pulls out two 20 dollar bills tosses it to him and a loaf of bread. The robber thankfully is asking to convert/revert to Islam (Not this is not about trying to preach how wonderful Islam is, to those about to post hateful anti religious comments). The storeowner asks if he's serious and the robber says he is. He recites the shahadah (the Muslim declaration of belief in the One God) and the storeowner goes to the back to get the robber some milk, when he returns the robber is gone along with the 40 dollars and the loaf of bread.
Later the storeowner receives a letter from the robber, telling him how he meant his words, had indeed converted/reverted to Islam, found a job and included 50 dollars with the letter. The storeowner will not press any charges, should the robber ever get caught.
Like I said, we focus so much on bad news, that sometimes it's easy to forget that there are still good people out there.
