Mine is thinking and looking, If I miss the corner of something and I have to go back and look at it or if something is slightly wrong I double take. I think alot about everything and make image maps in my head to complicate things, very annoying. Anyway what's yours? If you are unfortunate enough to have a form of OCD... :(

Every time I pack to go somewhere (purse or overnight bag) I check and recheck: enough clothes, socks, undies, pills, hair ties, hair clip bobby pins, toothbrush, brush, toothpaste, makeup and key. Then I unpack the bag again and recheck. for my purse it's wallet, phone, key, phone again, pills. Before I go to bed I check my alarm 2-3 times if I HAVE to be up by a certain time. I must also pee right before I sleep, if not I have to again, even if I'm dead to the world walking to the bathroom. Cannot sleep if I haven't peed within the last 5 minutes.

I count the segments that make up the numbers on a digital clock: 1 has two segments, 2 and 3 have five, 4 has four, 5 has five, 6 has six, 7 is three, 8 is seven, 9 and 0 are six. I count all the segments up and they have to be an even number, preferably 10 or 20. Alarm light indicators, AM/PM lights, and the hour/min separator ( : ) are fair game as well. If they add up to 17 (my most hated #), I have to keep watching without blinking until it switches (I don't know why, don't ask :P), then count and hopefully strike an even number. I also have a problem counting angles everywhere for some reason; they also must turn out even.

Theses compulsions are not that bad, but they do get irritating at some points.

What do you mean by "missing the corner of something"? And also, could you describe more about the image maps? My g/f told me about how she remembers numbers and the alphabet and wrote them out in the way she saw them, which was up, down, left and right. It was the first time anyone had ever told/showed me something like that.

Before i go to bed every night, i have to take a sip of water for no particular reason. I also can't go to sleep if i have any plates or cups on my desk in my room. Also if i don't place something down neatly (like a bunch of TV remotes parallel and next to each other) i have to go back to fix it. The third one doesn't happen as much recently though, probably because my laziness is starting to overcome it.

I'm not tha obsessive compulsive but uhhh... I have to check I locked all the doors and stuff before I leave the house if I'm the only one in. The next one is a bit weirder - I have to scratch my thighs until they're red raw whenever I do a poo :?

I sometimes do the door one and cant stop thinking about it if I cant remember locking the door. Same with my car. You're on your own on the second one.

I found more lol: if i leave a drip on the side of a cup, i have to lick it off, or if there's food visible on the inside of a bowl (my own, not somebody else's) I have to scrape it to somewhere I cant see it or eat it. I have to pick up the phone on the second ring unless I know who's calling. I swallow repeatedly even after all my food's down. I crack my knuckles, and i have to crack ALL of them. if one doesnt crack, i keep trying til it does.

When I lock my car with the remote, I have to hear it beep twice. I can't stand limited edition cases for games since it messes up the stack of games I have and looks out of place. I even had the Legendary Edition for Halo 3 and I couldn't stand the black case, so my friend that works at EB Games exchanged it for me and gave me a brand new normal copy.

It is very pointless and unnecessary thinking. For example If I am watching a film I may recap on a part to 'fully' understand it, I do this by mapping every scene and then 'flying' over them tracing the movements of the characters. Hope this explains it a bit better.

Use to have one about the number 8, always counted to it in my head like when typing or drinking, so like type 8 letters then keep counting till the next 8 and if it didn't count up to 8 then I would just add more words etc.

I brush my teeth twice, when I shower I repeat the same stuff twice, I always like to smell nice specially my clothes I can't be confortable if my shirt caught a werid smell from something like A/c from the car etc. I can't sleep If I haven't brushed my teeth im anal with that damn it, I could be really drunk/wasted but I always and I mean ALWAYS before jumping to bed I brush my teeth. And if I wake up but let's say I did a bit early I have to wake up and brush my teeth if not I cannot sleep again that If I actually do because is other thing I can't do easily once I'm awake I can't sleep back.

I don't have OCD actually but OCD like things I have are: I can't have anything near the edge of my plate while eating. During tests, my binder and papers nee to be perfectly aligned larger things on bottom and have them running parallel. Also while sitting I must have atleast one foot off the ground.

When you drop your pants to your ancles and "step out of them", know how the pants remain on the ground?
When I go to bed and take off my pants I never want to leave my pants like it on the floor.
I shuffle them so that they just lie there randomly..

Also, On forums or other texting I hate to write I'll as ill because I think it will make ill. :?

Thats very much for explaining. I understand what you mean by corners now...and I almost do about images....but I cant quite bridge the gap on it. If my scanner was connected I'd show you what she drew, and perhaps you could relate to it and explain it in a way that I could understand. Maybe its just one of those things that one has to experience, or perhaps I do it in some manner and I just dont realise it. I really want to understand for myself and relating to her.

I have an obsession with multiples of 25 as well. If we are going by percentages, things must be in multiples of 25. If we are dealing with numbers between 100 and 1000, they have to be in multiples of 250.

I also have to keep my CDs and video games in order. CDs go alphabetically by artist then chronologically by release date. Video games go by order of Metacritic score from highest to lowest.

I once had an afternoon to myself and I went to Best Buy. I was wondering around in the music section looking for nothing in particular and saw that the section for Metallica was extremely disordered. I rearranged it with earliest on the bottom available shelf (and St. Anger hidden away behind less objectionable material). I then realized that the sections for many of my other preferred bands may be disordered as well, so I started wandering around "fixing" them as well. After I got around to Megadeth, a manager came by, asked me what on earth I was doing, then asked me to leave. I still don't understand why...

I also feel compelled to square any two digit number I see in my head.

I like straight lines to be perfectly straight. For example if there is a straight line drawn on a piece of paper or a wall I tend to go right up to it and put my face right against it so I can perfectly see how straight the line is, even lines on computer screens. I'll zoom into something really close up until I can manually change every single pixel until it makes straight lines perfectly straight. (photoshop) I also like to have have symmetrical objects perfectly symmetrical. As you can probably see, most of my problems revolve around shapes. I also like to arrange EVERYTHING alphabetically.

1. I always organize my cds no matter what.

2. I tend to keep a stack of books level with each other.

3. If I spilled something, I tend to make a huge deal out of it and usually I rush to the kitchen to wipe my mess.

4. I organize the chairs so that its level with the wall.

It good of you to try and understand it for her. It is quite hard to understand and I don't think anybody could fully understand it without experiencing it. That was just one example I gave you, there are many others, for example once I had a massive map in my head of everything i did with sub-compartments, that was very stressful. I think you just need to talk to her to understand it, I have tried to explain it to people but most just don't understand, a couple of people though have understood it very well so it is possible. If you want to explain what she put more just send me a pm.

I have this too, only mine is slightly more forgiving. The stereo in my car must be at a volume in multiples of 5. 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. The max I allow it to go to is 50 (which is pretty loud anyway). Anything beyond that just sounds bad. It doesn't have anything to do with the OCD. I also can't stand pictures/paper that's hung at an angle. If it's someone else's I'll leave it alone but if it's mine I'll sit there and adjust it until it's perfect. Otherwise it'll drive me nuts. I also have a knack for spotting typos and misspellings. I can read a newspaper and point them out as though they're in bright pink lettering. Obviously I have to know how the word is spelled first, but you get the jist.

For years I'd have to chew evenly. If I had 8 chicken nuggets in front of me, I'd have to chew 4 on the left side and 4 on the right, or else my mouth would get tense. Fortunately, I weaned myself out of that. :P

Now I keep waking up until about 20 minutes before I fall asleep to make sure that the alarm is on. Plus there's usually one clock in my place I refuse to switch, since I hate Daylight Savings.

I can't think of anything. I hate when people talk in the bathroom, or try to talk to me when I'm driving (I'm very focused). I can't think of anything else. Oh! I don't like sticky things on me. But, that's more because of it feeling icky than worry about cleanliness.

All my videogames are alphabetized and separated by platform. That's common, you say? Not pushing the envelope, you say? I also have a small planner that lists every game I own with columns for: When I bought the game, when I started the game, when I beat the game, how many hours I spent with the game, and how much I enjoyed it on a scale of 1-10. And I can say, with all honesty, I've only bitten one person in my life. That same planner also lists all my book, videogame, CD and movie "wishlists."

I keep all my books and movies in alphabetical order. Whenever I get a new book, I have to move stuff around on the bookshelves to make sure it gets placed in the correct alphabetical order (by author last name, then first name, then book title).

I would love to see scans of the pages from that.

This probably doesn't count, but whenever I save in video games, I save like three times just to be safe.

Yeah, whenever I turn off a video game, even if I just reached an autosave point, I quicksave and then create a save file...

I do that, well with RPGs. Nothing else matters enough to me. And sometimes, it's more than three >_>

If I had a scanner I would. Though I don't know what you'd be expecting... It looks just like I described it.

Every time I get less than a B on anything I obsess over it to the point where I lose sleep.

I also have to have my books in perfect order; if I have a series of books, their covers need to all be either paperback or hardcover, and they all need to have been designed by the same artist, or I can't even bring myself to buy them.

Curious what games you like and all that. Honestly, it sounds like a really good idea for a book. I could see having a journal with a page a game so you can remember where you left off when you walk away from games and such. My mom does that with books. She takes EXTENSIVE notes on events on the books, on paper she tapes to the books, all sorts of intense evaluations and considerations.
