there are a little bit too much rules here on this site it seems that u have to be politically correct in order to disagree with someone and not get reported or a mod deleting ur msg. to me it does not seem as tho the user has complete freedom to post their true feelings. does anyone agree?

I do disagree with a few rules on here, but I think some rules are placed correctly. Alot of them helps keep dumb immature comments out of reasonable discussions, and also keeps cussing to a minimum just because there is really no reason or purpose to be cussing..

This is one of the more stricter forums around, but just remember, freedom of speech does not apply to the internet.

the mods can barely keep up with people not following the rules as it is. can you imagine no rules and how many complaints there would be of people wantig others posts deleted or the user banned for making fun of them or insulting them, itd be uter chaos

Gamespot is like private property, when we're here, we have to follow the landlord's rules or he has the right to kick us out.

I actually like the fact that this place has enough rules for it not to be NeoGAF or the Site that Must Not Be Named (SMNBN). Those places can be hell.

It does apply to the internet, just not here and a bunch of other places with ToU and other similar "contracts".

Well dude, you're free to find a different website if you think that the rules are too strict. I'm pretty sure you had to agree to follow the rules before even being allowed to post here, so I don't see what the problem is.

Some places are more strict than others, others don't seem to have any rules at all. You pick what you like and we all have a good time.

I do not mind the strictness. When I used to post in the Wii forums it was almost utter chaos at times. I prefer keeping this place clean.

agreed but at the same time i think that if someone is getting tough with another user over the internet than they must not have that much of a life to begin with. but if they are being outrageous than i can understand them being reported but being resonable and being reported or having a mod interfere and warn u to me is just not fair if they dont fully understand what u meant by what u posted.

i would luv for there to be a site out there where you have complete control as long as you are not internet thuggin, but other than that you can post what you want and disagree or agree with any user that u want. there would be rules of course but not nearly as strict about it, cuz its not that serious IMO.

Armed revolution anyone? "Give us posting freedom or ban us!" "You can ban me but you can never take my FREEDOM!"

Usually, the only people that complain are the ones with under 200 posts. That should say volumes.

even if you have 200 posts that does not change your liking for the rules IMO thats like being arrested once and hating the law but once u get arrested 10 times u like the law all of the sudden, you just understand the rules a little bit better than say a rookie-poster/rookie-criminal because u are a veteran of the rules/law. i once had another account on here and had over 1000 posts and was still not happy with the rules.

i simply started the thread to see if anyone would agree (and not many will) that there are too many rules and sometimes the mods can be a bit unfair for instance, i might get accused of "trolling" for posting this right now because i disagree with your statement and i started this thread. i do not intend to annoy you i just want to state my opinion.

but now i understand that rules were put in place to prevent chaos so i understand i just wish they tweeked just a wiibit but hey i dont run the site so its not up to me.
