I've been getting into somePower Metal recently. But all I know is Dragonforce... I gotta get into another band or two of the genre. Try not to recommend 10 bands at a time and can they sound nothing like DF to keep some variety. Cool?

Too many stupid sub-genres. *sighs*

I don't know, man.

I like Metal and all, but I don't want to list bands.

There's no doubt someone would scream at me that those bands aren't "power metal."

Well, if you don't know what power metal is then I'm sure you can't help the TC anyway. Falconer is the only one I'd recommend, and even then just their first album (not big on the power metal).

Well Hatiko practically /threaded it...I'm just gonna mention Luca Turilli, Labyrinth, Thy Majestie, Angra, Brocas Helm, Celesty, Dragonland, Edguy, Firewind, Jag Panzer, Metalium, Running Wild, Stormwarrior, Virgin Steele and Zonata. I know most of the above are mixing of Speed Metal with Epic or Symphonic Metal, but whatev's. I like them as good as Power Metal. Personal favorite of Sonata Arctica is San Sebastian, personal favorite of Helloween is Dr. Stein, personal favorite of Rhapsody is Emerald Sword. Just saying, you should check them out.

No seriously their not. They had a one hit wonder that was garbage because they couldn't even play it live. I remember hearing a song called Operation Ground and Pound by them and it was near identical to Through the fire and the flames. I'm not hating on them they just don't deserve to be called good when there is so much better out there

I remember Operation Ground and Pound was the first DF song I heard and my brother thought it was Through the fire and Flames and I was like "What?" and then he started singing the lyrics of Through the fire and Flames over Operation Ground and Pound.

They found out what they were good at and didn't change it. It's like how Sonata Arctica's San Sebastian and Victoria's Secret sound simlar also.

Based on what other people have been posting, Pathfinder seems to be a powermetal band. I didn't really know much about them, and I've heard one song from them, but they seem cool.

I'm not a big fan of Power Metal simply because the genre lacks originality in a bad way, but one album I've always loved is The Black Halo by Kamelot. Other than that, eh, not really my preferred genre.

LORD! They've already been mentioned in the thread but I will still recommend them, absolutely brilliant :)

There's also Black Majesty, another Australian power metal band. They're decent, but I absolutely love "Silent Company" and "Guardian" so give those a listen.

I'd also give Hammerfall a try. They're pretty generic power metal, but give them a try and see what you think.

If you like them try Savage Circus. It was made by aformer Blind Guardian drummer. They sound pretty much the same. If I gave someone one of their CD's and said "Hey check out BG's new album" they probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Well, problem with that is that I don't really like having bands that sound identicaly in my collection. The only exception's solo careers. But hell, I'll check 'em out.

Since you like BG. Demons and Wizards was a band that was made by Blind Guardian's lead singer and Iced Earth's lead singer (yes it's both of them).
