Not according to this: Matthew 29:19-20 says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
My school actually had a celebration of sorts at the flagpole the night before with people playing guitars and worshiping God. I'm in a Christian college btw.
Of coures the bible is going to say spread religion.I understand why ppl at your school do, its a religious school, its different than a public school.
I did the same in public school.... >_>
I also question the faith of someone who thinks there is a difference as to where God is worshiped.

well, I have a problem with assemblies like prayer at the pole, from a spiritual point of view. I don't feel like quoting the actual scripture, but it says in the bible that you're supposed to pray like you're in the closet away from the world. It's not supposed to be used as a public display, or to be used to represent anything. It's meant as a medidation to become closer to god. That's why I never engaged in pray at the pole at my school. I still don't engage in very many public prayer, unless it's at a funeral or something like that
I see your point but I dissagree with you. You have to look at the context of the passage. Jesus was speaking to Phrasees who were not showing off God but showing off their own supposed righteousness. The purpose of praying at the pole is to pray for the school and to show Christian influence within that school. It is to glorify God, not themselves.
Also, do not forget times in the Bible when people teach, preach, and pray publically.
