Preheat is a must. It bugs the hell out of me when oven-cooked foods aren't cooked all the way.

Nope. I turn the oven on, stick the food in and add like 5 more minutes to the cooking time.

depends. if i'm cooking in my toaster oven which heats up very quickly, i usually do not pre-heat. if i'm using my gas oven which takes much longer to heat up, i'll preheat.

Preheating the oven is for noobs. :P I don't usually use the oven unless I'm making pizza or cookies so it really isn't a big deal.

No, no, pre-heating is essential. How do I know, you ask? Because the instructions tell me so.

I do preheat the oven. Why wouldn't I? Its also a lot harder to gauge how long something must stay in the oven if you don't.

ALWAYS preheat the oven! Good lord if you dont want to wait, use the nuker.

It is very dangerous to not preheat the oven as when you cook frozen foods, the outside might be the right temperature but inside it can be raw still. This is especially important for raw foods such as chicken.

I always let the oven preheat for 15-20 minutes depending on temperature. Fortunately I have a gas oven so when it is done preheating, I always hear the gas switch off or see the light turn off (that signals the burners are in operation).

But in short, always preheat for atleast 10 minutes.
