Lucky my Mac has a green light which tells me when it's turned on... But there's probably a way a hacker could disable it.

Pretty disturbing, its good thing I don't have a webcam, but its a shame because so many people have laptops or some sort of mobile device with a webcam/microphone on it, and the vast majority are college students, and an increasing number of younger kids have access to their own mobile computing devices and don't know the dangers of online predators. That's why people need to be serious and careful when it comes to going online. Always purchase and or buy or obtain, whatever, some sort of Internet security and firewall, always take the precautions to be safe on the net, never chat with people you don't know, or go on shady pron sites or go on them in general. No pirating as that's where lots of viruses and malware can be transferred . \ Whats funny though one way some of these girls could have avoided the whole "sextortion" was to not be passing nude photos of themselves in general. people don't realize everything you do on the net creates a digital footprint and can be monitored by anybody with the know how.
