AWESOME!!! I love that game! And the guy who made Pirates of the Carribean is making it?! It really IS gonna be Pimp!
That seems to be the trend, sadly :?That's pretty neat. It certainly has potential.
But it's probably going to get cancelled eventually.

Gamers are cursed to watch crappy movies based on decent games.

Johnny Depp should be the prince :Psteppinrazor88

I wonder if they'll give the Prince a name in this movie. . .

They could call him Jack :P
[QUOTE="steppinrazor88"]Johnny Depp should be the prince :Pblooddemon666Keanu Reeves
That would be a tragedy :(
I'm hoping that they get a good writer for the story. Michael Bay knows how how to film visually appealing action sequences, but the storytelling on some of his films DEFINITELY needs work.
Anyone else annoyed that the only thing to come out of Hollywood nowadays are either; sequels, remakes or video game/comic based movies? Where the hell did originality go?

Jerry Bruckheimer has to be one of the best director/producers out there. He's everywhere! This one time I was watching this show, forget what it's actually called and it had been going on for quite a while and I decided to watch it. It was impressive and the beginning of the credits, Jerry's name popped up as Executive Producer. Gotta respect him. And he's doing Prince of Persia? That's gonna be good.

Actually this is not the case elsewhere in the world, it seems to be an problem exclusive to Hollywood. Recent movies like 'City of God' (Brazil), 'Oldboy' (South Korea), 'Amores perros' (Mexico) and 'Visitor Q' (Japan) amongst others are testament to this.

NOOOOOO thats how you ruin a game to movie movie i mean look at the resident evil movies they added some new character that had nothing to do with the game and the movies were crap...... so i think they should stick to the plot and go with the game
Good game to movie adaptation? It could be The One...GameFreak315No wais! *looks at name* Yeah wais! 8) :P
Just the shortening oozes greatness -- PoP! :P
Instead of attaching a big-name actor to the project, they need to find a young up-and-comer for the lead. That way, they could use more of the money for this film for development (i.e., effects, writing, production design) than just dropping $15-20million on just one actor.
Also, I think they're planning on keeping the Prince nameless.

Agreed...they shouldn't get a famous person. That would kinda suck...they just need someone who really looks the part. And can act. :P
He Produced it so don't expect it to be similar... Producers don't have a lot of say in the creativity aera of a film. Directors do and lets face it Michael Bay...AWESOME!!! I love that game! And the guy who made Pirates of the Carribean is making it?! It really IS gonna be Pimp!

You'd be suprised on how much say a producer has when it comes to making a movie. Certain producers, mind you...not all. When Poltergeist came out back in 1982, the director was Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Steven Speilberg was producer of the film, but there was a lot of controversey back then on who controlled the creative aspects of the movie. It had Hooper's name, but most of the people who worked behind the scenes said that Speilberg controlled most of what was filmed.

Probably because he was putting a huge amount of money into it, hence called a lot of the shots. A film on this scale will likely have a lot of people backing it up, even if JB is the top billing on the producer list he still can't make any drastic changes without consulting the other buyers since they paid for a certain version of the film.[QUOTE="_shadow99"]Anyone else annoyed that the only thing to come out of Hollywood nowadays are either; sequels, remakes or video game/comic based movies? Not really, i mean originality in films isn't really that apparent until something original comes along, i.e The Matrix, Children of Men.[QUOTE="Mercury_May2112"][QUOTE="steppinrazor88"][QUOTE="_shadow99"]Anyone else annoyed that the only thing to come out of Hollywood nowadays are either; sequels, remakes or video game/comic based movies? Knocked up was pretty funny. As far as original movies, there's a few coming out. Off the top of my head tie one I wanna check out is Fido, which looks good.

It is few and far between but lets face it, Originality only comes once in a generation or so. Although in all fairness i came up with the Matrix first when i was about 7, didn't know it would be called the Matrix or have anything that is in the Matrix in it, but the whole "We're just plugged into machines thing" i had down. I even took it one stepp further and said everyones plugged into the machine but they are all the same person in the computer world, as in everyone sees through the same set of eyes. Please Log In to post.
