Ok.
What would you do if...
You didn't believe in God your whole life and when you died you went to Hell.
And also...
If you devoted your life towards God only to die and not even go to Heaven, but instead be in an everlasting sleep (or w/e)

Be pretty pissed off God would be childish enough to punish people for something like belief in Him rather than such things as morality.

Death is the end and that's why it's death. There is nothing after death. That's what sucks about it. You cease sentience.

So your "proof" entails every single person on the planet dying and either being accepted into Heaven or rejected to Hell...Apollo5000
Yea, that is an awful proof. That's like saying this:

I was expecting either a hilarious joke, or a pathetic excuse for proof, or something groundbreaking. Instead I am confronted with hypothetical questions. But now that I'm here, I might as well answer them.Suffering eternally in hell is SOO much better than just worshiping a God and being happy forever:roll:
If I died and went to hell for not believing in God, so be it. Because there are so many contridictions and hints in the world that God does not exist. Also if God is the pompous ******* of the Bible, then I wouldn't want to be in heaven with him anyway. Any God that forces you to worship him, I would rather be in hell.
And if I had believed my whole life and went to hell, I would be like... damn. And never believe in anything again. Probably start fornicatin'.Yarcofin

Pascal's wager. Heh. The problem here is that the risk management appeals to a person unsure on what to believe, and they will naturally go to the seemingly more beneficial choice (God). yeah no kidding, i mean i believe in God, but how does that prove it?
Btw thread title was for attention, sorry :(
The thing is, you can't tell whether there is a Heaven and Hell, or what happens when you die. Don't you think people back in the day thought they'd see their Egyption Gods if they died?

There's a bit of a difference between having a choice with your parents with varying costs and benefits and being created by a, or in this case the, deity, your ancestors eating a taboed fruit, then being "given" the choice of worshipping and following It's doctrine or being cast away to the rest of the screw-ups.Of course, we all should be aware of the alterations made and the state of some civilizations when the first set of Bibles were developed....but still one idea remains,"Follow God's edict and you shall live... or be like the countless others who have tried to live by their free-willed choices and died."

The Story of Jonah. He was sent to tell the people to REPENT or their city will be burned to the ground/destroyed. I don't mean to compare God to a terrorist, but with stories like these and the constant threat of burning in Hell, I'd really rather take my chances with being an athiest. I don't mean to offend anyone with this. Im just defending Yarcofin's point.
