We haven't lost any of our moral values. At no point in history was the population of the world ever much good in the "moral values" stakes. There was no golden era where crime and debauchery was non-existent.

Slavery. Persecution based on religious beliefs IN PUBLIC OFFICES, AND BUILDINGS. Just two examples of how your wrong. We've gained moral values if anything. For the most part I'd say we've just left the traditional "christian" lifestyle here in North America.

Eh... depends on what your personal moral values are... impossible to judge really since there are no objective morals.

Your right, lets go back to the good old peaceful christian times, like the crusades! Or lets go back and enslave a massive group of people due to them having a different skin color.

Sadly, we probably live in the most just world/society humans have ever lived in. Think about how cruel life would have been just a few thousand years ago.

The world is the way it is because of egos.

With everyone's ego about themselves and how they are different from the other person do we forget the truth that we are all united and connected together, to the Earth, Moon Stars, animals left and right, microbes here and there, thatwe are part of one race called the Human race and that especially because of this, should we embrace ourselves rather than letting our egos and ambitions hide the truth fromourselves.

We're all part of the experience we call life, and I believe the Second Coming will more be a change in perception of and about the world, rather than some diety coming back to Earth to take 144,000 special chosen people with him to the clouds and into paradisewhile the rest wallow in anguish in the hell we call Earth.

Actually, its spelled* Moral. Anyway, I disagree. The world has become far more superficial, but in terms of morals, we have come a long way. I think most of society's morals these days make more sense than any previous society.

^This. Plus, the internet has just made people more aware of the atrocities that are going on, and perhaps give ways for people to actually stop them.

HOLY SNAP you're right... everyone says "the world sucks now" but that's just because they have just realized it. Before they were thought only ABC's and Barney, but when they enter the real world they realize what it truly is.

If anything, I'd say the world has the most "moral values" its ever had in the history of humanity. We are at a point where there is mass open communication between cultures that allows for the building of tolerance and cooperative relationships. There isn't a huge language and culture barrier any more. We've come to a point where humanity is only going to grow and get much more constructive. Because if we don't, we're going to collapse.

And what was the last thing that you stuck up for that didnt involve your own personal feelings? The world isnt depressing at all! Murders, rape, adultery, stealing, and assaults are all from people choosing to do what they want. You know what that means? YOU can do the same. You can go and stand up for what you believe in. They have consenquences, you will have consenquences, regardless of it morally acceptable or not. Yet, you can do it, and nothing absolutes whats morally correct like morally incorrect acts.

To be honest the whole time line from when we were conceived to 1500s its depressing but the fact that rape and murder was while not acceptable was not as punishable therefore morales was somehat poor it was all about tradition them times we have grown into a world that we don't neccesarly need morales all the time possibly due to our civilised ways. A phycological thing i think that we just don't need it majority of times unless in a urgent situation. In simple terms i think the fact that death was all too common 50 and more years ago show that it was more depressing.
