I think we should heed his warning.

Story on Reuters/MSN

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Americans should vote for Donald Trump as president next month or risk being dragged into a nuclear war, according to a Russian ultra-nationalist ally of President Vladimir Putin who likes to compare himself to the U.S. Republican candidate.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a flamboyant veteran lawmaker known for his fiery rhetoric, told Reuters in an interview that Trump was the only person able to de-escalate dangerous tensions between Moscow and Washington.

Is it just me or has this batshit crazy election become crazier than anyone ever thought it could be since we have all realized Trump is not going to win? The whole world is trolling the hell out of us and I guess we deserve it.

LOL hell no I don't give in to threats.....and Russia will NOT influence our politics. Shame you believe they should. I'm sure you could move there though since you're so enamored of Putin and Russia.

Yeah, I bet Putin is willing to go to war, with China, against most of the other countries on Earth. He does not seem particularly prone to wanting the suicide of the human species to come to pass.

Yeah I think people think it would actually happen. It won't. The world is so connected now, the people that can actually destroy the world/other countries won't. The little guys, well, they can't do enough damage; they'd just be signing their death warrant.

The statements should be interpreted as sage advice, not as a threat.

He's not saying that Russia will launch a nuclear attack if the US fails to elect Trump. He's just saying that current tensions are more likely to escalate into war if Hillary is elected than if Trump is elected.

And he's right. Hillary favors greater intervention in both Syria and Ukraine: stances that could well precipitate direct conflict with the Russian Federation.

Trump, on the other hand, is smart enough to favor capitulation to cooperation with Russia.

It has amazed me for months that more people don't understand that Trump is only trying to pander to Putin because he failed in the past to have his business set up in Russia. All Trump wants to do is expand his business

Zhirinovsky's right about the difference between the two candidates it's either mutually beneficial negotiations under Trump or the probability of WWIII under Clinton.

Some quotes to ponder

"By the terms of the agreement, funding came from Turkey, as well as Saudi Arabia and Qatar; the CIA, with the support of MI6, was responsible for getting arms from Gaddafi’s arsenals into Syria"

"the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region.”

You and the BRITS have caused mayhem in the mid east and screwed europe in the ass with the refugee crisis.

As far as the refugee crisis is concerned: al-Assad is to blame for that mess, that maniac committing war crimes against his own people.
Europe has been so accommodating to refugees not just due to the humanitarian aspect, but also because countries like Germany are getting much older and a fast answer to that problem is welcome refugees (the downside being the sheer number of refugees).

You want to fight ISIS, the middle east countries should be the primary fighters. Turkey, Isreal, Iraq, Iran, Saudi, the Kurds -- and western powers providing a helping hand in terms of air power. Just look what has happened in the last 15 months, ISIS has lost 1/4 of its territory.

So yeah, I don't really know what your comments have meant at all -- but there you go.

@mark1974: The simple endorsement of Trump has weakened our nation as a whole. The man doesn't even need to be elected, just him having made it this far has sent a strong message to anyone foreign interested in how fucking imbecilic a large majority of this populice is.

An people where worried about Trump starting nuclear war? Hillary has got this one in the bag. An I say bring on World War 3 if someone as corrupt as Hillary Clinton can be voted into office. You deserve nothing more than to be reduced to ashes. An if Russia decides to press the red button you can bet that China will follow. Things will get interesting indeed. Glad I'll be the one sitting back watching TV, popcorn in hand when it happens.

Nope China and Russia are best buddies and are becoming stronger as every day passes. Meanwhile US military is depleting and degrading thanks to Obama who does nothing but play golf all day. Just in case you had any hopes that the US would survive a world war 3. What's Hillary going to be doing when the nukes come? Sleeping most probably.

Yep our military is totally rotting away with the $600B we spend on it annually, which is more than the next 10 biggest military powers combined.

Conservatives live in some alternate reality where instead of our military spending being totally out of control, we aren't spending enough.

Back in reality, we spend way too much on our military, and often on wasteful programs like the F-35 and Littoral Combat Ships, that the military doesn't even want or need.

there's no value in the statement when it's an assumption. It does not follow from a no-fly zone that a war will result. I'll give you an example of when the Clinton side made similar assumptions. When those Iranian fast attack boats were swirling around US ships and Trump said he would just blow them out of the water, people were saying that will start a war. Likely not. Likely you get a blockade on the Straights of Hormuz choking off oil supply and causing the price of crude to jump, because that is a far more winnable strategy from Iran's standpoint. You don't leap into a war against a nuclear power and you don't set up a no-fly zone without the security council, which Russia sits on. This was brought up in the VP debate with both sides talking about establishing these practices through already existing UN guidelines.

why is she making the assumption? Because like her middle east policy she doesn't really understand anything on this subject and because she knows the left fears Clinton's hawkishness. She's trying to shave off progressive votes from Hillary to legitimize her platform moving forward. If there were any logic in the statement I could focus on that, but it's all alarmist ramblings, jumping to conclusions without having any knowledge about how these things work. She wants to believe it's true and she wants you to believe its true because that is a beneficial outcome for her candidacy. And that is biased conjecture. She's pandering, just like she does for the no-vaccine crowd.

By all means get it done the way it seems fit at the time, but the problem is that once the US got it's results, it left quickly without following up on what was happening in Afghanistan & where the funding was being used. Instead there was an uprising against the Afghan government by the same Mujahideen's who wanted Sharia law. So basically the USA threw a boomerang and forget about the tool's latter function.

I have a better solution XD. Let's vote for the 3d candidate - Vladimir Putin. Think about it: two biggest and most powerful Christian nations united as one. America will get an effective president that gets stuff done and we Russians can finally move to California and Florida - we are tired to live in the cold. :D Besides, we, Russians, have lots of oil to offer ; )What you say, comrades. Shall we be brothers?
