I have some thin and unwanted hair on my cheeks. Now, I don't want to shave it because I know it'll grow thicker, and plucking hurts. Now, my question-- if I use nair cream -- made specifically for the face -- will the hair get thicker?

It's not much of a big deal, I could live with it. I'm just exploring my options. Thankies.

Why not bleach it? Takes about 8 minutes and you gotta do it every couple of weeks. Super easy. Just buy the home bleaching kits. Its what I do in between waxing of my eyebrows when I get lazy.

Shaving doesn't make it grow in thicker, it only creates the illusion that it grows in thicker. Go find yourself a cheap electric razor and (depending on how sensitive your skin is) some aftershave.

The idea that shaving hair makes it grow back thicker is an urban legend with no evidence to back it up. Just shave it.

No.

Until you can actually grow a real beard, shave. It just doesn't look right.

Are you male or female?

If you're the latter, just wax. But if male... for the love of god, just shave. At your age you probably won't even have to do so every morning.

That's the thing. I've seen people who grows beards that have hair on their upper-cheeks equally as thick as the hair on their chin. It looks weird. If shaving makes it grow like that I'd rather leave it and go on with my life.

Heheh, that would be funny. But I don't think that will happen. If it comes to that, wax it. It'll grow back less coarse/thick.

Shaving will not affect the density of your beard in any area. My facial hair has come in regularly at the same volume for years.

If you are always wearing socks it will kill the hair on your legs and it will not grow back. So if you always wear a sock on your head it will kill the hair on your cheeks and on your head as well. You might look funny but eventually you won't have to worry about the hair anymore. :P

If you're talking about whiskers, just shave them, they won't grow back thicker and turn you into some wolf-man looking type.

Technically, your hair does not get thicker when you shave it off. Its just an old wives tail. The extra thickness is just an illusion. My advice is to just shave.

If you are still a teenager, good luck keeping it from growing. Whether or not you touch it, it will continue to grow longer, thicker and darker. Shaving to increase growth and thickness is only an old wives tale... whether or not you shave, your facial hair will become more "manly" with time.

Just shave it an keep shaving it. Constantly shaving is part of being a man. It's like a woman having her period...err, well it's not like that at all really but whatever. Just shave it off.

I've been shaving for the past 5 years, and I've never really thought it looked thicker afterwards..... And girls like guys who shave....shows maturity. But so does a beard or gottee, but not one made of peach fuzz. if you have peach fuzz, or its not growing even, then shaving will look the best. And if you think it looks thicker, then just shave more often. Buy an electric shaver, doesn't take very long with an electric.

I shaved for several years trying to get my facial hair to grow in thicker and darker. Never worked... then finally, when it finally decided it was time (at about the age of 20), I could grow a full beard.

I could grow a full beard alittle before I turned 18. I dont know much about before very well though cause I never tried. I shaved about once a week or 2 when I was 15, didn't grow too fast or look thicker, and I was in no hurry. But peach fuzz is a turnoff for girls, so I just didn't want any. When I was 16 I had to shave a few times a week. Then at 17 I just shaved everyday. After I turned 18 and was a senior in high school, I wanted to look like it, so thats when I started going back and forth with a gottee. I can grow a good one in about 5 days, after a week I have to trim it to about an 1/8 inch cause it irritates me if it gets too long. I get a good full beard in a week. Not much has changed since then, I'm 20 now, and its about what I've always wanted it to be.

If you have the money, get it lasered off.

I usually shave mine and also pluck it along with the unwanted thin hairs that grows on my cheek.

Propaganda by the males... I have never encountered any girl in my lifetime (and that is a lot of girls) who ever sputtered the words "OMG he shaves too! He is sooo mature!"

Look, f you have enough patience, shave. if you don't , don't shave. Simple. I shave once a month, but it's because i have no pleasure in shaving, or not having a beard. I think beards are awesome if done right.

If it bothers you then shave it. I hate shaving and leave it the maximum amount of time possible between doing so. Hence I always have a big bushy beard.
