I have an inquiry, yesterday they took my little cousin to the hospital because he had his lip all ripped, no one saw what happened, only saw him with his hand on his mouth and bleeding. They decided to blame my dog, but thereĀ  is a problem with that theory, my dog is a half meter tall, 5 year old, that has never bitten someone, cocker spaniel! So my mom calls out to find out what happened and they tell her that he had 154 stitches both inside and outside the mouth, can u even fit so many stitches in a mouth? We asked her to tell us if the doctor said the injurie had dog bites somewhere to be found, but she quickly dismissed it and hung up. Our theory is that my cousin got something inside his mouth, because i dont know how a gog can bit u inside out, but oh well, and my aunt made such a scandal that now she may be exaggerating to avoid being emabarrased, problem is my mom is now afraid of my cocker and wants to give hom away or kill him, sigh.opinion on if u think it is possible for a cocker to do that to en 11 year old boy?

yes I was gonna say...

Ā

And it is perfectly possible that the dog did that, though that would be weird.Ā  But if the kid is 11 then he should be able to tell you what happned.Ā

OH no, that the most suspicious part of all, since the accident he hasnt said a word, first because he was bleeding then cause of the stitches, im ure he is thinking of blaming the dog for something he did, btw he is at his house after 154 stitches, and the doctor only told him to come back in 2 weeks, i would say that for 150 stitches a too laid back, im thinking 4 stitches for a busted lip(maybe my dog jumped and headbutt him at most, while playing) and my aunt flat out lying out of embarrasment for blowing things out of proportion.

i had a cocker spaniel before, they're insane and flip out all the time.

it bit me three times for no apparent reason.

all little dogs are like that... which is why there should be no little dogs allowed in the world. if you want a little dog, get a cat.

for a dog to attack someone, it either is rabid or was being harassed to the point of defending it's self. a dog could have caused a person to get that many stitches, but 150.

Wow what's with all the hate towards small dogs?Ā  They're not any more likely to bite you than a large dog is and a dog (or any animal) wo'nt attack unless it's provoked or it has rabies.Ā  It also depends on the dog, some dogs are less tolerant of people poking and pushing them around than others are.Ā  And sorry but a cat is no subsitute for a dog.

Grab your cousin and threaten to give him 150 more stiches unless he gives your dog its innocense back lol.

Most dogs dont attack for no reason whatsoever. Esepcially a family pet with no history of aggression. If you dog DID do it...he must have been provoked.Ā

My dog is the friendliest dog in the world. and I has gone for me once...when I poked him in the stomach lol. Hes 16 and thats the only time hes ever tried to bite ANYONE.Ā

Cooker Spaniels aren't a breed that's known for aggression.Ā  If the dog did it then it had a reason to but I find it highly unlikely. Ā Get the kid to tell you what happened.

i have had many dogs in my life. big dogs are always alot calmer and friendler. little dogs always think you're out to get them and feel the need to protect themselves just because they're small.

a small dog = a cat so why not just get a cat. anyone that wantsĀ dog that weighs less than 25 lbs should just buy a cat.

First of all when you bring a pet into the family you treat it as part of the family, i.e. not tossing it aside when it becomes an inconveince for you. You and your family all made that commitment when you brought the dog home, so tell me, would you put a person to sleep such as a brother or sister if they made you get stitches??? I swear people are so retarted sometimes, if you bring an animal into the house, no matter if it's domestic, it's still going to have that wild animal instinct so you have to learn to treat them with respect. Your parents should have realized that little dogs and little kids aren't a good combonation as they will pester anything to the brink of voilence.......since nothing has been said about what happened and even a doctor ruled out the possibility you should tell your family memebers to not jump to idiotic conclusions and quit looking for scapegoats.

my grandma has two small dogs and one of them growls at you if you try to pet it, but it doesn't do anything aside from that even if you continue to pet it. Ā

Cut your cousin's arm a few times and take your dog out for a walk, when you get back, and when your cousin's dead, it'll look like he commited suicide, and since you were out for a walk with your dog, they COULDN'T blame the dog. Then, your aunt doesn't have to waste money on feeding your cousin.

Every1 wins.

well obviously some of them (as well as some of any other breed) have problems or the first two searches i got for "cocker spaniel" wouldn't have been about their aggressive behaviors.

As I said i've never had a problem.

It comes down to two things.

1.Ā Where the dog came from.Ā  If the dog is from good stock then there shouldn't be any problems.

2. Training when young.Ā  Given the proper training when young, dogs don't have these kinds of problems.
