Hi, 2 things I need clarification on

1. How do I determin an equation of the line with these properties: slope = 2.5 passing trhough the point (4, -2)

I dont seem to remember how do solve this so if anyone can tell me the steps I need to take id appreciate that

2. Find the equation of these lines in the point-slope form y=m(x-p)+q and find the y-intercept: Slope 3, through M(2,1)

Im confused about those 2, anyone help would be appreciated.

...Come on now. :| If you can't do the most basic of algebra, then just give up on life now. Come back when you need help on advanced calculus or graduate level theoretical math courses.

For #1: Use y=mx+b. substitute in the numbers so you have -2=2.5(4)+b. solve for b. so you get -12=b. then put b back into the equation so the answer= y=2.5x-12. Thats all I have for now, not sure about 2 though, sorry.

Or just don't ask math questions on Gamespot.zeppelin_64

Most people don't feel like thinking on gamespot. I just happened to be doing math homework so i checked it.

Slope formula is (x-x1)=m(y-y1), so equation is (x-4)=2.5(y+2), or y=(2/5)(x-9).

The other is (x-2)=3(y-1), or y=(x+1)/3.

Plus you can't ask for homework help here.... or something...

Yeah you could always use that way too.
