I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now, but I have never really understood much about the equipment inside of electric guitars and amps. I currently play an Epiphone Les Paul 100 on a small starter amp that I got when I first started playing. I like to play metal / metalcore and this setup doesn't quite achieve the crunch sound I'm looking for. What kinds of guitars or amps would you recommend within a reasonable price range?

Hey, i've been playing for about 5 years now. Right now im using an Epiphone Gibson Les Paul, with a Vox 30 watt amp. It really deliver that metal sound. You could also purchase distortion pedals for a distinct sound. I recommend the brands: Ibanez, Gibson and Shector.  For amps, i really like Vox amps, but marshall are good too. Keep playin!

looking for more crunch, invest in a larger wattage amp and a good distortion pedal. your guitar will be fine!

depending what amp you get, you may not even need the pedal.

i have a Marshall valvestate 100 and  boss super metal pedal.

all the crunch youll ever need :P

plus many guitars check my blog for a proper list and pics etc:)Â
