I've returned used games before and gotten another disk of the same game, but could I return that works and get instore credit for it, or at least tell them it don't work and get instore credit instead of trying another disk of the same game?
I can't really concentrate right now(Been awake for more than 24 hours) but I'll just say that if the disk is scratched and destroyed than you cant trade it in.

You have 7 days after purchase to return the game to get the exact money/credit you paid for it...
lets say you bought a used game 54 dollars, you have a week to return it back to get the full 54 dollars... after the week is up the value will drop, and you will maybe get 30 dollars worth of credit/money, it all depends on what system and what game....
they are pretty anal about that stuff. I went to gamestop and tried to return a game and the guy was like "we arent a rental store ya know." i havent gone back im not giving them my money any more.
I got street fighter anniversary for $25, I really just want to return it and get Star Ocean: Till the end of time, which is $13. You think I could return it and get Star ocean 3 and some instore credit if I just tell them something like "it don't work right, it takes like 20 seconds to load stuff. I don't know if its just the disk or if its my PS2, but all my other games are working fine, So im not really sure, can I return it for instore credit?"
