Why were all the Spartans half naked? All they were wearing was a cape and a leather strap. :| Was this to enhance the movie effect or did they really dress like that.
Seems like they would have been a little more... durable... with a breastplate or something.

1) sticky
2) they wore breastplates in real life, ask frank miller why they didnt in the movie.
Another question... why did Leonidas wear that fancy helm? His was the only one with a skull brush. Wouldn't that kind of make him stand out? That's like holding up a big neon sign that blinks, "KILL ME! I'M PRIORITY TARGET #1!"Taxpaying_Acorn
but wouldnt it help for his own men to know were he was cause to them he was also priority number one.

The actual spartan's wore chestplate's. I think they removed it in the movie to make them look tougher, or something.
well there is paintings of the battle of thermoplylae which had the spartans being naked. Now I'm not a historian nor do I pretend to have any real knowledge on the subject but my opinion on this is that as the spartans were a people who claimed to be the greatest soldiers in the world maybe they blieved they didn't need armor.acu02151
they did wear armor.

yeah, but i think they would make an exception for the king. In the real battle he died early on the last day, spartans were going nuts to save his body from the persians. His death would of had a major impact, probably a good one cause they would of snapped.

Did he say (in the movie) that if he died, the entire Spartan army would be activated? That one guy told him not to go meet with Xerxes because he'd be killed probably. And Leonidas said they'd either have to be very stupid or very lucky to do that.[QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"][QUOTE="jaymeister101"][QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"][QUOTE="Taxpaying_Acorn"]Another question... why did Leonidas wear that fancy helm? a tribe in africa during the european colonization believed the holy water they poured on themselves would protect them from bullets, so they wore no armor. every last one died. hahahahahahahaahahahahahmumotuma_man
lol, atleast they stuck with their beliefs to the end.
It was all for the ladies:wink:aaaaarrrrgggggexactly. we got to drool over gereard butler in a loincloth!!! done prolly to make the women who had to watch it a little less unhappy about the blood and gore since they had prettiness to watch. personally for me it just made the movie that much better. *drools over gerard butler more*
There's a thread for this already. If you don't follow the rules you can be severely punished.Sentenced to death or jail or what have you.Viewtiful-GaMeR
