About getting some new stuff. So I figured I should get some stuff for my set, and im having some trouble deciding on what to get.

There's either a 14" China Cymbal Made by Wuhan and a Pulse Piccolo Snare

OR

An 18" China by Wuhan, and maybe a new crash cymbal by Paiste or a few new drumheads.

So, which do you think I should get?

get both, they're cheap enough. Much cheaper than my double bass pedal and hihat with swivel base.

I'd go with the larger China cymbal. You can make some sweet sounds and fit it in with metal music perfectly. Right now I have a standard set with just one ride and one crash cymbal. Once I save up I'm getting a new crash and a china:D

Ok yeah, if you're going to be going more for the rock/metal playing get the cymbals instead of the piccolo. They'll mesh better with the sound you're after.

I've got a Yamaha set that was like a dream come true when I got it. It was my frist drum set, and I played for like 8 hours straight when I got it:)

So far, its a Basic Wally-World quality 5-Piece Set, + Crash, Hi-Hats and a Ride Cymbal that actually sounds somewhat good.

I have mixed feelings with the snare it came with. I have to keep a 500-page novel and a REM-O on the batter head so it wont buzz like a chain saw. This snare that im looking into buying has gotten nothing but very good reviews.

I'd go for the china if you're playing metal. You'd be surprised at how great you can make a simple snare sound. I asume you know the procedure for tuning drums, just make sure the resonant head is tuned lower than the batter head. I did this when I played rock and metal and it sounded great, real snappy.

Get the china and some nice heads for your snare.
