If you work out your abs if you have a layer of fat on your stomach, will your gut expand? Or will it just strengthen your core?

If you're bulding stomach muscles and the fat isn't burning, yes you will get a big gut.

I'm not exactly sure of your question... but if you are building ab muscles, and not losing fat, then logic tells me that your stomach will get "bigger". I don't think it will look any worse, though.

But you'd have to increase your muscle mass a lot before your mid section would look noticably bigger.

If you want a six pack, you have to do cardio and burn fat.

If you want to get rid of that fat, you'll have to use cardio (weights work too) and dieting.

yeh wat BMDoo4 here said, if you dont do enough cardio and get on a good diet while you have large abdominals then your stomach is gonna be like Chuck Liddels :lol:

The muscles are already there (or else you would not be able to stand up) If you work them out though, they will get bigger If you do not lose the fat, then that mass will still be there as well ...in the above case, the overall area will be bigger
