Question to you GameSpotters...would you date a much shorter girl?

Today, I had a date with a girl I met on an online dating site. Before I met her, I thought some of her pics were cute, and some were just OK. But once I started chatting with her, I found that we had a lot in common. So we set up a date for today. Nothing fancy...just coffee and a few other things. Only one problem...I saw that her profile said that she's just 4 feet and 7 inches in height.

I'm 5 foot 8, so I figured that's a substantial height difference. I was a bit reluctant, but figured I'd meet her face to face and see how it goes. So we finally met today. I was, on the one hand, pleasantly surprised. She was cuter than in the pics. She dressed pretty well...quite elegant, and she was slimmer than she appeared in the pics too. Just one problem...she was considerably shorter than me. Don't get me wrong...she doesn't look like a freak. It's not like she has a giant head; short, stubbly arms; or anything of that nature. She's small, and that's it. Petite. Everything is proportional...just in a much smaller size. To put it simply...she's slightly shorter than a short woman. But I wouldn't quite say she's a midget...because that implies something about her is out of proportion and freakish.

We hung out together for about 4 hours. The date went really well. We never ran out of things to talk about, and she seems pretty excited about another date. She even drives, which still kinda surprises me when I think about it. To summarize...she's kinda cute, we got along well, and she's up for another date. Trouble is...I'm a bit self-conscious when I walk with her. I think I want a woman who is at least 5 feet tall. I'm kinda wondering what to do. As I said, she doesn't look like a freak...just a miniature version of a normal person. And I'm pretty darn sure there are guys out there who would be majorly turned on by her petite stature. So my question to you guys is....what would you do? Would you date such a girl, or would the height always be an issue at the back of your head? And sorry, I won't be posting any pics out of respect for her.

If they are short that would mean less time on their knees.

I'll just say what I said in the other height thread.

I'm short myself (5' 5'') so I think it would be hypocritical for me to impose height limits on who I would or would not date.

But as for you, if you like her don't let something so shallow as that get in the way. Who cares what other people think.

I have a thing for petite girls so I really have no problem with it.

I do have a problem with short guys though. Being 5'9 myself I just couldn't 'do a Sarkozy' and be in a relationship with a short guy. I just think little guys with tall girls looks a bit freakish and I wouldn't want to have to bend my knees to be level with him in pics and things. I'd seriously never consider dating a guy who was shorter than me.

I think a guy of average hight with a small girl is fine however. I wouldn't give you guys a second glance in the street or whatever. But ultimately you'd have to decide whether or not you feel comfortable enough with it yourself to be with her.

Shorter than me, yeah. But not like... Midget. Unless she was something truly special I just don't find dwarves attractive

4'7 wow that is pretty short man.. being 6'2 I don't think I would date someone that sword.

But if you're 5'8 that isn't as bad, just don't expect your son or daughter to be a basketball player :D

My wife's 4'10 and I'm 5'6, so yes. Your gap in height is bigger than mine, though.

I'm still thinking about it. I just feel like if I even accidentally brush up against her, she would fall over. Like a truck clipping a moped. But she seems pretty tough. She can even keep up with my pace without any trouble. Considering I'm a guy with long legs who tends to walk fast, that's impressive. Considerably taller people have had trouble keeping up with me. I'm still not sure. I like her, but at the same time, the height difference doesn't make me feel totally comfortable.

I totally would, for me, personality is much more important than a how a person looks. Don't get me wrong, I still would like a girl who is cute and good looking, but her personality is what really matters.

Last year I was dating a friend who is 5 foot 2 inches and I'm 6 foot 2 inches and we didn't have any issues at all. In the end things didn't work out but thats a totally different matter.

I'm slightly taller than you TC. Personally I wouldn't go for a girl that short, especially if shes just "kinda cute", I don't mind short girls, but I don't wanna bend my neck noticably just to make eye contact, lol. In the end its your call, if you feel uncomfortable like you said, then maybe thats something to consider.

I'm dating a fairly short girl now. A whole lot shorter would earn midget status, so no I probably wouldn't. I like short girls though.

Depends on the girl. Though I prefer girls around my height. Nicer build and they don't seem too scrunched up but most importantly, the legs. I don't know why but the legs are the most important thing for me but I'm just going off topic here.

Even if the woman was significantly taller then me, or if her physique isn't the ideal woman, i'd still date her if she had more going for her.

If you like the girl then go for it. The more you get to know her the easier it'll probably be to see past such a height difference.

Nooooo, be like women and have height requirements, its the only way to get back at them. It is your call, use your instincts. Personally, I actually want a woman to be around my height, not like 4 inches smaller than me. Though I am already kind of a short guy. On second thought, as long as she is a person you can get along with easily, this can produce so many lulz. Think about it, she yells at you, and you can just laugh and call her shorty, she has like zero power because she hardly has any mass XD. She also might make you look taller.

Go out with her again and see if you like her. If it's an issue for you then let her go I guess. I don't care about height as long as I'm taller.
