Are you asking who wrote it or what was the first translation? The people who wrote the Bible are the original authors in Biblical times.

The bible is a collection of stories written by dozens of authors over a period of over 1500 years. The first bible as we know it today was a collection of 27 writing that was decided upon at the Synod of Carthage in 397 AD.

No one really knows who was the author of Genesis, or any of the earliest books for that matter. They are historically attributed to Moses, but most scholars nowadays do not adhere to that belief. The most concise answer I can give you regarding the prevailing scholarly view on the question of who wrote these books is "it's complicated".

Google it and read multiple sites that look reputable- you probably won't get a lot of accurate answers here :)

Hmm... Job was the first book written and no one is certain who wrote it (though many think Moses). The first five books of the Old Testament, the Torah, were written either mostly or completely by Moses. Other books of the Old Testament were written by various people: David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Daniel, etc. As far as the New Testament, Luke wrote the most material but Paul wrote the most letters. Other writers include Matthew, Mark, John, Peter, Jude, etc. The Bible was written by many people but was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

I hold to Mosaic authorship for the vast majority of the text (not including parts like his death :P ). I simply do not agree with the arguments for the Documentary Hypothesis.

Although the stated arguments against the authorship you suggest are well reasoned and evidenced (additionally with NT Gospel doubt), I find it curious that you provide no reasoning for your "simple disagreement".

Have a read of this link.

Your link says this:

"It was simply a matter of God's convincing His human followers which books should be included in the Bible"

If that is so, why so many competing branches of Christianity?
