1. How did you get into gaming? My parents bought my brother and I a NES when I was little and my dad was into computer games (think Civilization, Dune 2 and Wolfenstien 3D)
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
I dislike this question. There is no "average gamer" and people who play games come in all shapes and sizes.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
The Internet has obviously allowed the community to spread out of arcades. I don't really know what you are looking for with this question.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
I rarely converse with people online but if I do I am polite. I also play the game the way it was meant to play and don't cheat/grief.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
I have no idea.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)

1. How did you get into gaming?
When i first played the Sega Mega Drive. I guess from then, i've just bought the latest consoles
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
What comes to my head at first is the stereotypical nerdy bloke with spots living in the basement.
But after that i realise i'm a gamer & i'm nothing like that.
So i guess the average gamer could look like anyone! Good looking, ugly etc.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
The gaming community is great at the moment, it can only get better, not worse.
I never noticed the gaming community when i was a kid, i've only really noticed it in the past 2 years.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
I have a temper, i tend to curse alot.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
I see video games in the future going strong!

1. My dad bought me a SNES in 1992 out of the blue as a gift.
2. nothing special or too unique. You won't find any cookie cutter stereotypes because gamers come from all walks of life.
3. My opinion of current gaming is that too often profits are put before quality and creativity. When I was a kid it was much more niche than it is now.
4. It depends. if I am losing bad I will start chirping to other players, by that I mean trying to be as big of an a** as I can to throw them off their game. If I am winning I am quiet and content.
5. Everywhere. The medium will only grow in popularity and become as common as movies and TV.
6. I am a passionate gamer that cares about the industry and follows every part of it I can. I wish to work in the gaming industry some day in some form, although right now I don't know what role I would play. I have a foul mouth (what can i say, it grew on me in childhood), I am not as outgoing as most, but I do have friends. Is that good enough or too much ?

1. How did you get into gaming?
Parents bought my brother and i a SNES when we were younger. enjoyed playing it with family and it went from there.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
Unfit, with not the highest regard for there personnal appearance.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
It isn't what it use to be, has become to repetitive churning out the same game with a new title attached. Flaws are always present and the Casual gamer has crepted in. Games are not as challenging as they use to be.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
As i do in normal day to day life, my personnality doesnt change when i am online.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
Bigger, prettier but not exactly better than they were.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)
I am 17, I like playing shooters. I dont take losing to heart online, but I do have a habit of blaming germans for me dieing online. I am usually quite and wont spark up conversation but i will talk to people that talk to me.
1. How did you get into gaming? Well for Christmas one year my Parents got my brother and me a super nes and I haven't look back since.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like? It is hard to say because gaming has become so diverse that you can't really pinpoint who is a gamer and who isn't because it will surprise.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid? When I was a kid I really didn't know the video game community but now I think it is great and some adults should try being as helpful as the video game community is to each other.
4. How do you act when playing games online? I am competitive so I don't like to lose but I also understand that it is just a game. But I still don't like to lose.
5. Where do you see video games in the future? Who knows it is hard to say what is going to happen. But I do know that I am excited to see where it does go.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc) I guess I am laid back and just go with the flow which is how I play video games too.Raven_Theory

2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
An average person. The stereotype is long gone.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
The videogame community is...agressive.There are fun people, but also a large piece of a-holes.
4. How do you act when playing games online?

1. How did you get into gaming?
I got a Nintendo and played it. It was fun, so I kept playing.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
This really is a stupid question. Its like asking what the average person looks like. There is no average gamer.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
All anyone ever wants to play now is GRIMDARK shooters with too much brown and bloom. People would rather shoot the same uninspired creature 10000 times with a gimmicky chainsaw gun as a horribly 1 dimensional character rather than play something that is actually fun, and god forbid, requires them to think.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
Laid back, usually the joking guy. I only engage in trashtalk and general **** if the other guy constantly provokes it.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
Constantly being more and more casualised for all the bros who love gears and halo. FPS will make up 99% of the market and any game lower than T will be a commercial failure. Also, all games will have online play. God forbid you get to play a game with a compelling story and setting, as opposed to playing the same game type on the same map 50 times with some 12 year old hotshot screaming in your ear. Good times.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)
I like to play games. My favorite genre is by far Stealth Action, my favorite series being MGS, Hitman, and Splinter Cell. As far as other games go, I also love Half-life 2, SotC, Resident Evil, Elder Scrolls, Rainbow Six, and a whole lot of other stuff. I have a habit of being a perfectionist, trying to get all 1000points if possible. My language is English.
1 - My parents bought me an old 386 computer when I was 3 years old. It had a few games like Sokoban or racing games. After that they got me a tv game console. After that it was pretty straight forward, I got my first Windows 98 box and so the fun begins.
2 - He probably cares more about gaming then about his appearance. With long hair, beard and long fingernails, considering he is the type that is too lazy to get off the chair.
3 - Times were different back in the days. Games didn't receive a lot of hype, they were not made with astonishing graphics. In the 8-bit days any small graphical improvement would send echoes. Today it's mostly about graphics. It's not necesarily a bad thing in some cases, I don't mind eye-candy. Developers should work a lot more on storyline and other aspects of the game rather than gfx. Today a lot of games are rushed to the market because the producers said "Hey it looks good, why are we still working on it. Out with it.".
4 - I most certainly do not act like 75% of the gaming population, as in ranting every second with retarded words like "omgwtfbbq! u sh00tz0rz me! h4x!!!!!!111oneone ban him...." I try to find people that haven't lost their humanity, that can still write a correct and well-punctuated sentence from start to end.
5 - A lot of companies would still be making the so-called HD games, with graphics first, impression second and storyline last. A lot of people hav forgotten about the real good games, the old ones, hat had a mind-blowing story. I remember a lot of games which, at first looked like garbage, but after giving them a second chance I found an immersive story that made me want to stay late at night to see how the action evolves.
6 - Even though I am mostly a non-stop gamer, I try to focus my attention on other important factors in life, such as family, studying and working. I can't stand silence or sitting in a spot for too long (except for when I'm gaming). This is one of the reasons I like games, music and mind-challenging stuff. This why I started working as a web programmer, which is one of my passions. I also started learning russian recently, as I plan to move to Russia.
Hope this helped

1. How did you get into gaming? My older siblings had video games, so naturally I was sucked in.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?A normal person?
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid? When I was a kid, the only video game community was my own, so it was awesome :P
4. How do you act when playing games online?
Like a normal person. Unless I'm playing with asses, then I return the favor.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?Extremely mainstream.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)Uh...vulgar language, bad habits, and a bit of a short temper.

Q. How did you get into gaming?
A. When I was 7 or 8 years old my father purchased an Atari, and 've enjoyed gaming ever since. But if I really had to pinpoint the reason I continue to play games today it would be Ultima Online and Shogo I haven't played either game in years, but in very different way, both of those games showed me how fun online gaming with other people can be.
Q. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
A. I think this is like askign what the average sports fan looks like. Gamers come in all different shapes, sizes, ages, ethnicities, etc. The stereotype of the nerdy gamer really doesn't seem to apply anymore... at least not when you're considering the gaming community as a whole.
Q. What is your opinion on the video game community how was it when you were a kid?
A. I'm 31 years old, so when I was a kid the "video game community" consisted of my video gaming friends. With the advent of the internet (when I was about 17), of course the video game community became a global one. I think the best part about the gaming community today is the level of communition between gamers, developers and development teams alike.
Q. How do you act when playing games online?
A. That depends on the game and the role I'm playing. If this question is meant to tackle game ethics then let me put it this way: I don't cheat and wouldn't enjoy the game if I did because I wouldn't be playing on a level playing field. If a game gives me the option of playing a good role or an evil role I always play the good role first and then play a second run thru on evil just to experience the full game content.
Q.. Where do you see video games in the future?
A. The sky is the limit.
I ask for 5 minutes or less of your time. So I'm writing a paper for my college English class. It's a research paper on the video game community. If I could get some gamers inputs that would be awesome!
1. How did you get into gaming? I started playing them at a friend's house when I was 6.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like? There is no average gamer. So many people play video games now that it is pointless to think of what the average gamer looks like.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid? I'm only 18, so it has always seemed fairly open to me.
4. How do you act when playing games online? I just act like myself.
5. Where do you see video games in the future? I see them continuing to try to integrate more people into the video game society.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc) I don't know, that would require a long answer.Raven_Theory
1. How did you get into gaming?
One day when i was a kid, my dad got me an NES.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
Like your AVERAGE person, probably early teens to mid twenties.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
Games were a lot less pretty thats for sure. Had to rely moreso on story and gameplay than flashy graphics. More violent now too.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
Same way I do when playing games offline, casually, but still competitive when need be.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
In basically the same place it is now, albeit probably better graphics. I think we have hit a innovation plateau now.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)
Pretty laid back, usually play around the same times (after dinner or so), and I swear a lot.
I ask for 5 minutes or less of your time. So I'm writing a paper for my college English class. It's a research paper on the video game community. If I could get some gamers inputs that would be awesome!
1. How did you get into gaming?I startedc gaming on the original Simcity and Theme Park but i never really got into gaming until my aunt bought me RA2:Yuri's Revenge for the PC, as i didn't have the original RA2 my dad was forced to buy it for me. I put 100s of hours into that game as well as Stronghold which i got for my birthday a year later. This also got me into computers as the family one kept getting viruses and my dad would take for ever to reinstall my games so i learnt to do it myself. When i got a paper round when i was 13 i started buying loads more games and bought my own PC. When i was 14 i built my own PC and managed to get WiFi by using the family PC loads for CS:S, this set me off into the internet community and internet gaming.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
Depends on your definition of a 'gamer'. To me a 'gamer' means someone who would choose games over other equivelent activities such as gaming with friends instead of going to the movies with them or going to a games convention over a music festival. In which case body wise gamers don't tend to bein the best shape but that dosn't mean they're out of shape as some will spend what time other people would use for going to bars and such for working out in thier roomlike i do sometimes. Also skin dosn't matter much as i have a tan even though i don't go out or sunbathee much and live in the north of England, i'm just able to hold a tan for months after i've been on holiday.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid? This dosn't really apply to me as i havn't been in the gamer community that long. Though i do remember a few things like how they were seen as "for kids" and also how a movie was always seen as much better than the corisponding game but now they're pretty much equals.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
Depends what i'm playing, some servers require you to play just for your own score as no one will work as a team with you but on a good server i help my team out alot. I'm not a jerk that screams "I am 1337" all the time though if that's what you mean, i'm helpful to the noobies and show them the way round the map and wjhich tactics work best.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
I can see their being a split, sort of like how mainstream films are different from top critic and art films. Hardcore games will seperate from alot of the casual market. I can see there being alot of hostility towards casual gamers as gaming becomes more mainstream as like it always does games would loose thier complexity, difficulty and uniqueness.
On the shooter front there would be a split of servers between the casual and hardcore markets, the hardcore servers mostly being supplied privately and by clans and the casual servers being run officially. This would happen as the simple easy gameplay of alot of shooters wouldattract casuals but the fast action gameplay that this simplicity allows would atract the hardcore crowd. If a casual player joined a hardcore servers they'ld be obliterwated then insulted, if a hardcore gamer joined a casual server they'ld anialate the other team but then proberbly be banned for supposed hacking.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)Raven_Theory
1. How did you get into gaming?
My parents bought my sister and I a colecovision with Donkey Kong when I was 8 or 9. Our whole family played Lady Bug and Zaxxon for hours.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
I don't think there is an average gamer.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
The internet has really changed the way that people game. Where people used to get together and play games, now they play the games online. There really wasn't a large gaming community when I was younger.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
I only play MKWii online and let's just say I'm glad that the people I'm racing against can't hear what's coming out of my mouth.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
I see more online play. I see more people getting into video games as a form of entertainment especially since it's less expensive to rent a game and stay home than it is to go out for dinner and a movie. With tough economic times, people are going to spend more time at home and still want to be entertained. Right now, there really is something for everyone.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)
Competitive. I like to play until I'm good whether it's LoZ or DDR. I swear a lot but then I do when I'm not playing video games as well.
I love writing about myself :3
1. How did you get into gaming?
My stepdad had an atari, and I spent alot of time at the local arcade. I eventually got a job at that arcade when I was old enough, but it closed because kids today are too lazy to drive somewhere to play video games. For my 7th birthday I got a Super Nintendo and the rest is history.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
An average person.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
The video game community has changed, and not for the better. Back in elementary and junior high and stuff, video games were only for the "losers" and the "fatties" and the like. Then all of a sudden "average" people came along and I think the hobby suffered. For evidence of this, go onto Xbox Live for a bit and count the number of insults.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
I act very polite, if I talk at all, after someone tells you "how hard your mom was ****ed last night" its really hard to have a pleasant conversation.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
I see video games staying where they are for awhile, we just now reached the HD era so we need to just let everyone catch up with that for now. I think games will stay around where they are and then later move onto the "virtual reality" realm.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)
I play games when I want to play games, and that is pretty much it. I know some people have figured out "how many hours per week" they play, but I don't have the patience to time myself, especially when my sessions can run anywhere from 20 minutes to 5 hours. You never really hear people talk about "how many hours of movies they watch per week" so why should we do the same with videogames.
Hope this helps... Err... I know it won't buy I had fun writing.

1. How did you get into gaming?

2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
Uhh...normal?
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
I think the gaming community is filled with 9 year old kids screaming in my ear. When I was a kid, I enjoyed it a lot more.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
I respect everyone I play with.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?I think that they will continue to focus more on graphics than gameplay, which will end up destroying the industry.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)Raven_Theory
Respectful gamer, I'm shy at first, but outgoing when you get to know me, I don't have that many habits, I speak english.

1. How did you get into gaming? when i first watched my pops play the Atari2600 back in the day.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like? intense but sleepy glossy eyes and strong fingers.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid? mostly the same, i'm not old enough to notice a big difference yet. if anything some gamers take it way too serious.
4. How do you act when playing games online? competitive
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc) i'm a collector of video games so my game room walls are shelfed like a small personal libarary. i think i'm a nice person now but i wasn't always,i went thru some really tuff times as a youngin but when i changed my attitude and survived the days in hell, things almost just fall my way. my habits are making money, girlz, games, making music, drawing, reading, thinking, etc. just living life.Raven_Theory
1. How did you get into gaming?
played the NES at a friends house when i was young. wanted one. begged my parents for one, and they finally caved in 1990. Discovered games like Mario 3 and was hooked forever after that.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?
look out the window, walk down the street. any of those people could be gamers.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?
the internet has turned everything into a competition with no winner. you don't like music unless you've listened to every band that came out each month; movies like the dark knight are barely out of theatres before people speculate about the next one; and if you only own one video game console then you are a casual gamer. It's no longer about what's great, it's about what's next. It's pushing developers to rush releases and getting them on shelves before they're ready. And it's dividing the video game community into camps. I miss the way it used to be.
4. How do you act when playing games online?
i'm slightly above average in skill. i can't consistently beat those guys that obsess over a game and play it all the time, but i can certainly hold my own.I will often be the last person left in the room... not because I'm better, but because i'll stick with the same group until no one wants to play. I figure I'll win eventually if I keep at it, and by playing the best, I can become the best.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?
The centre of the household if the Wii model takes off. It'll no longer be just a place to blast zombies. It'll still game, but you'll also be able to work out, study, watch TV, surf the internet, talk with friends, all through the same system. It'll be the hub, and a place that most people in the house visit daily.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc.
outspoken, outgoing, fun and funny. i'm the guy most people want to talk to at work because i try to have something interesting to say.
i play mostly RPGs. I like building up levels and customizing characters. Equiping a new weapon is thrilling, and I'll hunt and hunt for that one missed chest, even if it only contains a minor item.
I ask for 5 minutes or less of your time. So I'm writing a paper for my college English class. It's a research paper on the video game community. If I could get some gamers inputs that would be awesome!
1. How did you get into gaming? When I was about 2 I started playing video games with my dad, who probably plays video games more than me, now.
2. What do you think the average gamer looks like?A human? Seriously, this is a strange question, almost every type of person plays video games, there is no set model that I can see.
3. What is your opinion on the video game community/how was it when you were a kid?A bit more violent, but looking back, Mario was/is a strange little guy, he is a plumber who eats mushrooms and fights turltles and ghosts, through plumbing pipes, with his best friend Luigi, all the time trying to rescue a princess, with the help of mushroom people? Someone was high when they made that up.
4. How do you act when playing games online? The same way I act when playing offline in multiplayer, I try to win, and I sometimes talk trash, and sometimes I don't.
5. Where do you see video games in the future?I see video games getting more advanced, expensive, in depth, and what most(including myself) would consider better.
6. Describe yourself! (as a gamer, personality, habits, language etc)I'm an American, I speak English, and some Spanish, I go to college, which takes a lot of my time. I have a girlfriend, and I read, that takes up a lot of my time also. My gaming interest, are not narrowed, I like anything that is fun, except, I'm not big on shooters, although I have and do enjoy playing them from time to time. My favorite genre is probably RPG, or Platformers.
