Unfortunately I cannot continue working my overnight shift at walmart because of college starting in the fall. I was wondering what kind of effect this would have with any of my future job opportunities/offers/qualifications.

There's not an employer in the world who'd frown upon someone resigning from a night job for the purpose of resuming school.
As long as you give notice (at least 2 weeks), you should be finerawsavon
actually i can't..i didn't even know the 2 week notice existed until i asked my bro its gotta be 1 week
its walmart man, go ahead and just quit i know your suppose to give your two weeks notice and quit officially but its walmart, either stop showing up or just go to the manager and said i must quit ASAP didn't know about the two weeks notice and i aplogize but college is starting up and yeah. but either way its walmart
yeah? I still feel mad shi*** though. But they did **** me on my vaca. I told these guys before I was hired i was going to FLA and asked if it would be an issue. They said no and when i put in the time off request they showed their true colors. Doesn't matter because i was quitting because of school. It was my plan anyway...to do the job and quit.
Doubt your next potential employer would call up Walmart, Walmart like any other retail store have high turnover rate. So you should be in the clear.
You are putting way too much thought into quitting this level of job.yeah? I still feel mad shi*** though. But they did **** me on my vaca. Nah, for the trip to FLA.
As long as you were a good employee there should be little to no trouble. Just remind your employer before you start and be honest to why you can't continue your job. They should understand.
It's ***** Walmart. Quit. majadamusMy thoughts exactly. I quit my last job before going to the powerplant I'm at now 4 hours before one of my shifts started. It
A) Felt effing great.
B) gave me free time to move stuff up for university come fall

@majadamus, I reallllllllyyyyyyyyy never thought of it like that haha. Thanks though and @ bluestorm, that's the plan. I'm pre-law and its my first semester and I dont know how I should study really in college. I wanna start off good so I don't fall in the same trap I did in High School.

With Walmart I'd imagine many companies out there would look at it as a temporary gig, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
However, instead of quitting the job I'd consider changing shift first if possible, you'd get more income and having some work experience (albeit even with Walmart) should help you with your next job search. If you have a great relationship with your supervisor he/she can even bea reference for you

Yeah dude I had a job at Baskin Robbins and when I was talking to the owner (who answered) I told her that I had to take the day off because something came up in school that I had no control over. She got upset and quit right there on the phone with here. :lol:Please Log In to post.
