"Black in America"

Did anyone else watch this? What are your reactions?

To put it shortly, I felt like it was a big excuse-fest. Shows like this only aggravate and increase the problem by making a distinction. As long as we keep making a distinction in race, the problems will only expand. I have to admit that I only made it part way through. I understand disparities exist, but it really seemed like the people brought a lot of these problems on themselves.

Did it make the distinction, or did it simply acknowledge that one exists?

Also, we did not bring the problems on ourselves, but I do wish us to do more to fix them.

But I also want all the other world citizens that Europeans have nearly destroyed to unite and seek justice. Sadly I think it is too late for that.

It's just a big pity party, I seriously get pissed off watching this. Look, slavery sucked I understand but it's no excuse because it's been over for quite some time. My family was in Poland getting there asses kicked by Hitler but you don't see me complaing about my failures.mfrank0607

If racism ended with the end of slavery you would have a point. We were still being killed by racists while our government looked on just 40 years ago. And unlike most others, we can not just change our last name like europeans and assimilate to move up. The fact that we are black is impossible to run away from.

I come here OFTEN. Don't beliee me, check my post count. I come here and I can count on ONE HAND the number of times I'e seen black people playing the ictim. Usually, on pretty much a weekly basis, it's white people blaming blacks for crime. Or white people blaming blacks for poerty. Or white people blaming blacks for why the white TC got turned down for a job or didn't get admitted to a certain school. I hear white people complaining about how they shouldn't hae to be taught about black history in February.
