Fans of Stephanie Meyer's final "Twilight" book, "Breaking Dawn," are hoping that the big screen adaptation of it will be R-rated and will keep all the blood, gore, and sex that was intended to be shown. Unfortunately, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is against that.
Back in April, she wrote on Facebook: "My feeling is - more or less blood, or more or less graphic violence, sex or childbirthing gore doesn't define 'Breaking Dawn.' It's the characters, their journey, their relationships. The other stuff won't change that. So regardless of the rating, the story, essentially, is the story. I won't be able to satisfy ALL fans, but hopefully more fans than less."
I'm shocked to find out that "Twilight" fans actually want the movies to be R-rated, which may have also come as a surprise to Rosenberg. She told LA Times: "On the fan site, on Facebook, all the comments are 'It has to be R rated! You have to show the childbirth! Gore and guts and sex!' For me it's actually more interesting to not see it. You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth ... it doesn't mean it's any less evocative of an experience."
I'd support this 100%; that would make the movie's target audience unable to see it, make it a box-office bomb, and then we'd never have to see another Twilight movie. :P

My Girlfreind is 33 she loves it. For a lot of woman its the men! They develop with characters in the world and the image they portray danger etc feelings and the sex appeal.
They're desperately horny women. Sorry, girls, typically. This doesn't surprise me, as I'm sure one of the "cons" from the 4th book was that Meyer was nice enough to not write out the sex scene. Which was a general plus on my read. Didn't need to hear another excuse to express how perfect Edward was.
This seems like a problem Harry Potter has now as well. By the last book things get pretty mature and if translated onto the big screen, would net an R rating. Of course the producers don't want that so they will make it nothing like the book so it can get a PG-13 rating.
The last book was the best, because it was absolutely goddamn hilarious how all that stuff was in a book intended for teenage girls. Without it, the movie won't live up to the so-bad-it's-good awfulness of thebook.
