radiohead...your thoughts?

i watched this thing on mtv 2 saturday that had a bunch of music videos of them...and i heard creep on rockband and even though its such a depressing song and i think about killing myself everytime i hear it i still think its a great song...but everything else i heard its just...not for me

i saw on TIMES top 100 albums that like 2 of their albums are on there and well theres plenty of music i would put there instead of that but w.e

Simply put...I think there are better bands out there that play the kind of music radiohead does.

I think they're pretty good. Listen to The Bends or Paranoid Android thoroughly and you'll understand. Even In Rainbows is starting to grow on me. But when Trent Reznor made the point that their publicity stunt of offering In Rainbows was stupid because the music quality was crappy, he made me lose a little respect for Yorke and the boys.

u dont really need to understand them.........i dont like the way they sound so therefore i dislike them.....i could understand and like what they sing about but if they dont sound good to me then i dont like them

That actually made me lose a little respect for Trent. It seems to me like he's just bashing the music quality (which is just fine) because he didn't think of releasing it for free before Radiohead did. I don't see how him giving his stuff for free is any less of a "publicity stunt" than Radiohead doing it, just because he didn't do it first, even if he does give it out in a thousand different formats and all that crap. No matter what, it's the same songs.

I don't even think muse would be what they are today if it weren't for radiohead, and i'm a big fan of muse

Muse and Radiohead sound nothing a like after their first albums. It was just a coincidence that Showbiz sounded like Pablo Honey and The Bends. I'm sure that if Radiohead had came out after Muse you'd be saying if it wasn't for Muse, Radiohead wouldn't be what they are today. Muse's sound has obviously changed much faster than Radiohead's, and they're going in a completely different direction.

I don't think it was just a coincidence. I was reading that John Leckie who produced the bends by Radiohead also produced Muse's first album
