Wouldn't it make more sense to direct your rage against the people who operate the machine? I mean, how is a machine going to respond to rage?Oleg_Huzwog
What a stupid reply.
Also, yes RAtm is a great band. They still do reunion tours if I'm correct.

Thank you for attempt at sarcasm. I must say I'm much better at it, if I do say so myself.

Audioslave broke up if that's any consolation...

yeah i heard that was likely to happen, It seems Cornell's a jerk.
And I've heard of the reunion tours and concerts, I'm hoping for a new RATM album!!! could it be just a dream though?

It seems like they rage against the same machine they participate and leech off of.

how is another awesome band breaking up consolation:cry: its not fair i tell you!:(
The reason they broke up was because there was some issue with Zach (the lead singer). Since Audioslave broke up they've been doing some shows together, but they said they will not completely reunite. (rumors are going around that they will relese a new album. Regardless, they are still my favorite band, my favorite album being Evil Empire.Xx_CYC756_xX
I read somewhere that Zach De La Rocha left to pursue a solo rap career but it didn't work out.

He recorded enough but failed to realize people love Tom Morello, not him.[QUOTE="Xx_CYC756_xX"]The reason they broke up was because there was some issue with Zach (the lead singer). hmmm...Audioslave, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Velvet Revolver, Army of Anyone, they all pretty much sound exactly the same.
And RATM kicks Audioslave's ass bigtime.

I just recently started getting into this band, previously I'd only heard a few of their songs but now I have added a decent amount of their songs to my music collection. They are really good, "Renegades of Funk" being my favorite song. But sadly, they broke up a while ago and their offshoot became Audioslave, a half decent rock band. Why did they break up? Why would they go from being a spectacular Rap/Rock band with deep lyrical qualities and political roots to a so-so rock band that sounds like just about every other rock band i can name? So why did they break up exactly, if anyone knows. And is there any chance of a reunion and possibly new music? I sure hope so.Bauers-Twin
From what I've gathered the break-up stemmed from Zack De La Rocha feeling like he wasn't getting enough input in the band. He left and the remaining members were left in limbo for a bit. Then producer Rick Rubin suggested they try playing music with Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell. Subsequently Audioslave was formed, which in my opinion, rocked pretty hard as well. Not sure why you dislike them so much.
At the moment Audioslave has broken up and Rage is touring together again. No word on whether they'll make a new album.

I dont hate Audioslave that much, but they sound like alot of other rock bands, Breaking Benjamin, Velvet Revolver, Army of Anyone. While RATM has their own unique sound.

I don't know of Army of Anyone, but Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, and Breaking Benjamin sound nothing alike. It's almost like you just took various popular hard rock acts and assume they sound the same.
Audioslave mixes three primary things: 70s Rock and Funk, Grunge, and RATM's signature sounds such as Tom Morello's unique guitar work and Tim Commerford's equally impressive bass lines.
Ever since I got out of HS I stopped listening to them. Yeah, they're still good. But I'm past that "angry teenager" phase.
I believe they broke up because Zach de la Rocha felt they were becoming too commercialized and feeding the corporate machine blah blah blah.
My theory is he pissed his money away and needs more. So they have reunited for now.
yes... I'm a fan of their music... I havent' been to one of the reunion shows, but I've seen tons of bootlegs, and I must say it's pretty depressing to watch Zach now compared to before. He skips lyrics, and is overall less energetic.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
Ratm are also huge hypocrites. They're against huge, greedy corporations but they were on a Major Label, had an entire day dedicated to them on MTV and had the gaul to charge a ridiculous amount of money for their reunion show. I put SoaD in a similar category too.

They're a bunch of hypocrites, preaching anti-capitalism while using it to get their message out, for example.
