1 being the worst and 5 being the best. From what I heard I would say a 4.

When they do Pop-Nu-Metal, they are ok at what they do. But when they try to do that wanna be metal, they are a terrible band. Sadly they do the later rather than the other.
Everyone always tries to tell me they aren't heavy. Just because there are some bands out there that are heavier doesn't make Slipknot not heavy. :P 4/5
[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]Heretic Anthem.2, i hate all their songs except "If you're 555 I'm 666". Which I absolutally love

In an interview with mtv.com, Slipknot percussionist Shawn Crahan declares that Slipknot is the "hardest" and "heaviest" band.
"Listen, we are the hardest ever," he said. "We blow all bands away. I don't give a **** who your band is. I've probably played with your band, and you don't show me **** So, it's like, is this band heavy? Oh, yeah, we're the heaviest. We're heavy thinkers, heavy hitters, heavy writers and heavy people, but it's emotionally heavy. There's a lot of emotion on this record, and we're all on the same page with our own emotions, so you're finally seeing the kings of all the courts bringing their kingdom's jewels in for one gigantic war."
Besides discussing the upcoming LP, he also went on to say:
"No one has done what we have done, this is a war, man. The **** that we do, nine guys trying to ****ing write together, and keep this insanity going? Does anybody take the time to realize that? For me, this is like going to Vietnam, serving your tour and then the government asking you to do another tour because you're a badass. We've got 10 purple hearts, and we're ****ing killers. This isn't your rock and roll; this is our rock and roll."

Slipknot is a joke.
Their 1st and 3rd albums are great. Their 2nd and 4th albums are absolutely horrible. So, about half of the time, they're a good band, so I suppose 5/10 works for them. If the pattern keeps up, I'm really looking forward to their next album (but not so much the one after that).

They were getting interviewed by MTV, I think that sums them up.
I'd give them a solid four our five; I have their entire discovery on vinyl and love it. Iowa is my favorite song and All Hope is Gone is my favorite album of theirs.
I give em a 8/10. They have some pretty good songs but then some lame ones too. I love their masks though. Its a shame that Paul Grey died. I hope they release an album dedicated to him, like what Avenged Sevenfold did when the Rev died.
