Also the only thing about the vocals that really bothers me is the WEEK ENDS WEEK ENDS part, it sounds weird, not even really sure whats going on there... The words are totally dumb thought, its like she's just spouting words for FUN FUN FUN FUN.

Eh. It's always been that way. We just tend to idealize some of them and forget about the rest of them. There just appears to be more of them because there's more money, more outlets, and many more marketing channels.
