It's mind numbing that 25% of kids in a FIRST WORLD COUNTRY will be illiterate. That's horrifying. We have pocket computers and most people have one, but a quarter of kids will be illiterate?
Literacy is just so freakin important and I'm glad this is coming back. I loved Reading Rainbow.

I moved from Seattle, where bookstores were as common as Starbucks, to Southern California, where bookstores are as common as snowmobile retailers; illiteracy is depressing.

I don't even understand how someone functions in society while being illiterate....
This is great, I freaking loved Reading Rainbow as a child. That along with Barney, Sesame Street, Arthur, Magic School Bus & Bill Nye the Science guy was my go to lineup in those days. I'm happy they're bringing it back for the kids.
