ok.. my internet has been doing this on and off since 2 days ago. it will work fine for about 30 min, then just completely stop working. the easy way to fix it is just to simply disable the internet connection under network connections then enable it and it will work for about another 30 min. maybe its just a coincidence but it seems to start happening whenever i download a large file, then it will start doing it for the rest of the day. if anyone knows of this problem (has heard of it before, or expierenced it and found a fix) help would be greatly apperciated.

Leave the modem off for about an hour. Turn it on, then reset it. That's how I fixed it.

The sure solution is to call your ISP.

Have you got a wireless connection? If so, your signal might be having interference. If it's near your microwave, it can be really screwy.

If you have a cable connection, then I don't know what's up with that.

It could also be your lan router, assuming you use one. I tried a different I have here at the house for a while, and it did exactly like yours is. I think the problem with mine was that it was cheap quality and couldn't really handle as many devices as I was using it for (6). If it's your router, the easiest thing to check is to make sure that DHCP is working right, make sure there isn't 2 computers with the same IP address or anything.

If it isn't the router and it just started happening all of a sudden, your NIC connection on your computer may be going bad. You can check for updated drivers and try that, but if it started happening for no reason, the hardware is probably bad. If the hardware is bad, you can just get a pci network card and add that to your computer.

Ok if your using a cable modem, have it plugged into a dedicated wall and not split between the TV & the cable.
