Norbit. The story runs deep, and is pretty intense. I couldn't sit through more than 10 minutes.kylekatarn10

About Schmidt is an awesome understatement of "subtle" humor. If you have the intellect, you will love it's subtleties.
1) Shichinin no samurai (Amazing movie, i loved the plot)
2)Akira (It's the anime movie that basically started the popularity of animes in the West)
3)Metropolis (The anime one) I don't know about other people's personal tastes but i found this one both brooding and thought-provoking really fantastic film
Will try a couple you may not have heard of:
Memento
LA Confidential (Yes I am a Guy Pearce fan).
Dead Man's Shoes
Frailty
Otherwise, some of my fav's that I'd recommend are Scarface, Platoon, The Crow and Santa With Muscles... jokes...
I have to agree with Fight Club, one of my favorite movies.
Troy and Gladiator are good movies too, but to add to that list, Braveheart is another great movie, although it is a bit long.
