Recommend me some good obscure post-grunge/nu-metal/alternative songs.

I'm making a compilation to listen to in my car. I'm looking for songs with big production but not so famous bands. Those were the best times for the genre for me but I can't remember a lot of the great obscure songs I used to hear. I'll give a few examples as reference:

Hed(pe) - Blackout
Chevelle - Red
Epidemic - Walk away
Mad At Gravity - Walk Away
Adema - The Way You Like It
Cold - With My Mind
12 Stones - Broken
A - Nothing
Ill Nino - What Comes Around
Nonpoint - Signs

Gamespot forum members have a great record with recommendations, so let's see whatcha got!

Nu Metal:

  • Bobaflex - Bury me With my Guns
  • Come to Dolly - Tonight we Fall
  • Digital Summer - Just Run
  • Dry Cell - Slip Away
  • Exilia - Stop Playing God
  • Flawed Element - On The Surface
  • Kittie - Brackish
  • Lo-Pro - Texas
  • Twisted Method - Change Me
  • In This Moment - Blood

Post-Grunge:

  • Adelita's Way - Sick
  • Milka - Insane
  • Screaming Trees - Ash Gray Sunday (more of pure grunge than post)
  • Against All Will - Swept Away
  • Art of Dying - Get Through This
  • Black Stone Cherry - Blind Man
  • Dark New Day - Fist From the Sky
  • Disonic - Giving up the Ghost
  • Drain S.T.H. - Enter my Mind
  • Evans Blue - Cold (But i'm Still Here)
  • Revelation Theory - Justice
  • Shinedown - Bully
  • Smile Empty Soul - Bottom of a bottle
  • The Veer Union - Borderline
  • Die Trying - Oxygen's Gone
  • Era for a Moment - Strength
  • Lost Autumn - A Letter to Emily
  • Pop Evil - Shinedown (this band sounds a lot like 12 stones)
  • Seven Circle Sunrise - Broken Man
  • Since October - Guilty
  • Stealing Eden - No One Else

Alternative:

  • Anberlin - There is no Mathematics to Love
  • Audiovent - The Energy
  • Chainsuck - Big Mistake
  • controller.controller - History
  • Curve - Turkey Crossing
  • Kenotia - Lonewolf McQuade
  • Killing Heidi - I Am
  • New Years Day - I Was Right
  • scarling. - City Noise
  • TheSTART - Runaway
  • VersaEmerge - Mind Reader
  • Parabelle - More
  • Cavo - Champagne
  • Damone - Roll the Dice
  • The Dirty Youth - Rise Up
  • Endeverafter - I Wanna Be Your Man
  • Fit for Rivals - Crash
  • Icon For Hire - Make a Move
  • Maximo Park - The Unshockable
  • Saosin - Changing
  • Spinnerette - Baptized by Fire
  • The Tea Party - Temptation
  • There for Tomorrow - A Little Faster

Should be able to find something new here that you like. I think i have more, but its all i gathered from skimming through my list. Not a huge fan of nu-metal and i've grown tired of post-grunge bands since the majority sound all the same.

Some people will argue a certain band shouldn't be listed under genre X - I dont give a f*ck.

Anything Alice in Chains is cool grunge. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden are excellent as well. Check out Mad Season if you like Pearl Jam or AIC.

I love Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. Green River, Mudhoney, and Stone Temple Pilots(first 2 albums) are good bands for grunge, too.

Digital Summer, Lo-Pro, Twisted Method, Art of Dying, Revelation Theory, Evan's Blue (What a song Quote was!), The Veer Union, Since October, Audiovent!! (Are you kidding me! How could I forget about them!) These are the bands I'm trying to recall as all of them were in my old hard disk that crashed last year. There's so many here I haven't even heard of! I'm gonna have a blast. Thank you for taking the time to make the list, you hit the nail right on the head.
Just wanted to thank you now as it will take me awhile to go through everything.

I have a good one, beats all those already mentioned, it is call hammer and nail and requires putting a nail in your ear and slamming it in with a hammer.

Not digging the production value, sounds very demo-ish.

Audioslave rules post-grunge. Anything Audioslave.monkeytoes61

Yeah I guess I could pick up some Audioslave. SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE!!!

Brokencyde.  AWESOME band, check out their youtube channel.  You'll love them. HoolaHoopMan

What monstrosity is this! Why such trickery?

I recommend:

Faith No More
Primus
Rage Against The Machine
White Zombie
Rob Zombie
Bush
Candlebox
ArmoredCore55

Yeah RATM has some good tunes I could pick up and Bush as well (Note to self: Gavin Rossdale and The Institute). Checking out Candlebox's Into the Sun album on youtube right now, sounds promising so far.

Here you go.

What the hell?!

I recently got into Alice in Chains and I gotta say Dirt was an awesome album. I'm a fan of Eddie Vedder and Soundgarden but I'm looking for obscure bands I myself have forgotten. Will check out Mad Season though. Btw, nice choice with the unplugged song, I never heard it before.

I'm gonna throw some random stuff out...

The Vines - Winning Days was a pretty cool post grunge album, with some chill mellow stuff thrown in.

Finger Eleven - Self Titled ...Seriously I know the song "one thing" sucks major a$$ but this a very solid album that never got the appreciation it deserved.

Breaking Benjamin - Really any of their albums are right up your alley, high production values, AND they are based from my hometown!

Sum 41 - Chuck ...Awesomeness from a not so awesome band.

Skindred - Jamaican Metal...need I say more???

Coheed and Cambria - not too sure if they would be considered obscure, but still good nonetheless.

If you listen and like any of these bands hit me up, music is my passion and I will throw some more bands out to whoever wants some good stuff.

Breaking Benjamin I've listened to them too often to be honest. Finger Eleven on the other would be a good recommendation. I wasn't a fan of their early work other than One Thing (yeah I said it), Drag You Down and Thousand Mile Wish (Loved the music video too), but I think I'd be into their early stuff now. The Vines might have some good stuff too, worth checking out. Skinred too has good production value, I could pick out some of their singles. Thank you.

I think that should suffice. Once again the members of this forum do not disappoint, exceeding my expectations even. Perhaps I should post all my off-topic questions here rather than on Yahoo Answers. Thank you all for your great suggestions .
