I recently started listening to The Beatles for the first time so I was wondering if you guys could recommend me some your favorite songs by the band? So far I really really like Hey Jude.

Anything off the Red/Blue/White albums is good.

I'd go for albums rather than songs. I'd recommend Sgt. Pepper's, Revolver, The White Album, and Abbey Road. That will get you started off nicely.

For albums try Sgt. Peppers, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul and Revolver. And for songs, In My Life, A Day In The Life, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Norwegian Wood, Tomorrow Never Knows, and Here Comes The Sun. There's more, but I don't feel like typing them all out.

Out of what I've heard, Across The Universe, Come Together and Eleanor Rigby are the only songs that aren't desperately boring.

basically, get:

Sgt. Peppers

Abbey Road

Revolver

White Album

Rubber Soul

and you'll have ~90% of their popular/good songs.

e: get Let it Be as well, but make sure it's the (Naked) version.

oh yeah, get Magical Mystery Tour too.

Just like most other music that's worthwhile, get the albums, don't just download individual songs like a spastic 14-year-old girl discovering Nsync.

Agreed completely. To fully appreciate a band, you need to listen to the actual albums, not just random assortments of songs.

I would recommend getting their album "1". Its sort of a collection of about 30 or so of their #1 hits. So the songs in that album are probably the most famous Beatles songs.

Nice list. ^^ Don't you just love the power in Paul's voice, in Oh! Darling? (edit: On second thought, it's hard not to make a good list when it comes to the beatles :P)

Anyways, You can't really go wrong with Sg. Pepper and Abbey Road, in my opinion.
