I grew up watching Bruce Lee movies and Shaw Brothers martial arts flicks like: The Five Deadly Venoms and Master Killer. I even liked older flicks by Jet li like: Iron Monkey and Once Upon a Time In China. Some of the more modern ones like Hero ( Jet Li ) and Rumble in the Bronx ( Jackie Chan) are good too.

Anyone else here like martial arts movies?

I love Shaw Brothers movies! My favorite from them is Heroes of The East (Shaolin vs. Ninja). I recommend any Shaw Brothers film though, because I haven't seen one yet that I didn't like haha.

As far as new ones go, Tony Jaa has some good ones, especially The Protector. With Jackie Chan and Jet Li, Forbidden Kingdom is great for a lighthearted adventure.

i'll look for the shaolin v. Ninja

thanks guys....means alot to me. i have some old buddies coming over this weekend and we luv these flicks. i just hope they don't try to used the moves they watched on me afterwards. as kids we always used to act like we knew how to fight when the movie went off. i remember sporting a fat lip one time because of our careless fooling around. lol

i don't know if i ever heard of that one, i'll see if thats in my local video store too.

i got you....I definitely look for some of his flicks. any good ones you like come to mind?

also try some old school jean claude van damme and watch bloodsport :Dvilla4europe

of corse i've seen and have Bloodsport, personaly i think that was his best film, that and Lion Heart, 2 of his best 4sure.

I also like Billy Blanks ( king of the kickboxers) and Jeff Speakman (Perfect Weapon) but most of their movies aren't that good. I don't really like the martial arts film with guns in them, just swords, poles, nun-chucks, hands and feet. some of the few martial arts movies with guns that i did like were Chow yung fat's (The replacement Killers) and Mark Dacascos (Crying Freeman).

any others good martila arts flicks you guys think is worth a watch?

The only Jaa film I've seen is Ong Bak. But that is a brilliant film and needs only one viewing to convert someone to be a fan of Tony Jaa. :)

Perhaps you are thinking of this movie...

asdf

The Legendary Weapons of China starring the greatest martial artist to ever live, the legendary Lau Kar-Leung. Of course, having the next best martial artist Gordon Liu doesn't help matters although his presence isn't as great as I would have liked it to be. It was interesting watching him play a villain but the film mainly exists to show off Lau Kar-Leung's love for weapon combat. The Chinese magician-spies makes the movie a little goofy here and there but overall it's definitely one of the best martial arts films ever made.

Fist of Fury. It's Bruce Lee's first proper martial arts film, and it rules. The famous scene were he goes to the dojo with the sign in his hand and proclaims that he will defeat everyone in the room and force them to eat it... godly.

i saw that one too, wow...i forgot all about that one. I like the real acrobatic guy, he always play as a bum or someone with mental problems, dam i can't remember his name. I also like him in that flick when he played as a mentally challenge person ( due to drinking some poison). He teamed up with a blind dude, a deaf dude and one guy with iron legs. I can't remember the name of the movie but that was a hot flick too.

Fatal Contact. It starts off kinda slow but once it gets to the fighting you'll love it. No cgi, wire-fighting, or slow-motion b.s., just lots of brutal, real looking fighting. It's the only kung-fu movie I've liked more than Legend of Drunken Master 2 and Enter The Dragon.
