I guess so but I'm not sure why. The run down of the cast at the end just left me wondering who everyone was (only knew three of them). Why has this film been delayed for so long?I seen this earlier this morning. Do they honestly expect this movie to do well? :?

looks neat. I only wishes yahoo had better streaming services, gosh the loading on that trailer was slow. ferrari2001Really? Was fine for me at 720p

Meh, what's next in the line of 80s remakes?
First Blood with Andrew Garfield as Rambo?
The Terminator with Daniel Craig as The Terminator and Mara Rooney as Sarah Connor?
Pale Rider with Keanu Reeves replacing Clint Eastwood?
Amadeus with Idris Elba as Mozart?
Blade Runner with Will Smith as Deckard?
RoboCop with Joel Kinnaman as the title chara-oh wait.

It was China, but they changed it to North Korea with reshoots, and digitally altering signs during post-production. This article has some more detail about it.I didn't watch the trailer but who are the bad guys? North Korea? Al Qaeda (sp?)?
No way this movie will ever hold a candle to the 80's classic.

[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"]also.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolutionary_War Not to mention, look at the trouble that Russia and then the USA had over in Afghanistan fighting against a relatively far weaker and poorly trained force. Two of the world's superpowers having a hell of a time taking on local civilians armed with old assault rifles and homemade IEDs. Occupying another country is very difficult, especially when the natives are using geurilla warfare tactics.am i suppose to believe that a group of teenangers and civilians are suppose to go head to head with trained armed military forces? A few questions...
1. Where exactly is North Korea invading from in this movie? What state is being invaded? Texas? And if so, how did they get into Mexico in order to set this up in the first place?
2. How did North Korea get an airforce even off their own runways without US Satellites seeing them?
3. How did they get anywhere near the US borders without alerting the US?
IT just doesn't seem feasible without some goofy Alien Intelligence stuff through in...
Josh Peck? Haven't seen that guy in forever and he shows up in an action movie?
I've never seen the original, but this looks interesting.

And as it has already been pointed out the enemy force was originally Chinese, but they changed it to North Koreans to avoid taking a hit in sales. Which they will anyway because making it North Korea isn't exactly going to make it okay to the chinese audience anyway.

The original from the 1980s was extremely dumb. Somehow, this looks even worse.
As someone else said, an alien invasion is more likely than a North Korean invasion. The North Koreans have 1950s era military technology and are on the verge of starvation.

>_> again not a choice that the director or script writer wanted
[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"]Not seen the original then, I gather. Russia's a bigger threat then freaking Korea "even though it was suppose to be China which would have made more sense" and before you say "ITS NOT THE DIRECTORS FAULT" why didn't they just cann this movie or keep it on the shelves for a while longer. But if you wanna go see it enjoy man, I'm just tired of all these pointless remakesam i suppose to believe that a group of teenangers and civilians are suppose to go head to head with trained armed military forces? The movie had already been filmed by that point....they need some kind of return
i felt very underwhelmed by it.
at first i thought "it's China?" then i saw the North Korean star and figured it out and quickly thought this is Homefront the movie.
I would love to see a occupation-resistance movie set in a hypothetical future America, where the USA got pounded hard not by a series of nukes or some crazy effective EMP, but rather by an efficient and powerful enemy army. perhaps one that the US completely under-estimated. a story that also explored the dark side of resistance, and it's not completely all about propogonda pushing "fightin' for the stars and stripes!".
I would actually love to see that movie.
this is not that movie though.
i'm sure it will be a fun little movie about shyt blowing up. not as good as the original but how do you find a 21st century version of the brat pack? they just don't exist.
I have doubts about this film. North Korea would never have the capacity to invade the United States and their technology is outdated compared to the United States military. Unless However there's a plot twist to how North Korea obtained such a weapon that could damage the United States.
Also what made the original film work was that the Wolverines were a bunch of teenagers with some firearm experience. This film just gives us a full grown Marine and a bunch of other guys that are probably soldiers. Also the Soviet Union was a legitimate threat at the time. North Korea is just a hermit kingdom back then and now.
I know, I know use your imagination but I can't imagine North Korea invading us. Maybe China. Or Russia. You know there should be a film where all of the world declares war on the United States. Now that would be a good film.
Even China makes no sense. They only have one expeditionary division, which would be easily wiped out by the US military, even with some crazy EMP weapon coming into play like in the trailer. China's strategy for attacking other superpowers has always centered around ICBMs.
Even the USSR in the original made absolutely no sense. The Russians never had a way to invade the US. They didn't have much of a navy, their airforce would never have been able to deliver enough troops and supplies and didn't have the range to complete return trips, and they had no bases in the western hemisphere other than Cuba, which was under a US embargo. Their strategy always involved nuking the US with ICBMs while invading Western Europe. They had no ability to invade the US and never had any plans to do so.
The whole premise of Red Dawn is stupid. It always was stupid. It will always be stupid. No one wants to invade our crappy country.

it had a long sci fi-ish explanation for how north america could get invaded that involved nato breaking up and the entire warsaw pact rolling up through mexico.
