Religion - Yay or Nay?

Organized religions in general, in my opinion, are dying forms. They were all very important when we didn't know why the sun moved, why weather changed, why hurricanes occurred, or volcanoes happened. Modern religion is the end trail of modern mythology. But there are people who interpret the Bible literally. I choose not to believe that's the way.

I have no problem at all with religion. I don't think that religion is stupid or that religion causes wars -- I think that stupid, ignorant, closed-minded people cause wars. I'm not overly religious right now, but that's probably because I don't even know what my own religion is. I'm still trying to figure things out. I was raised by a Lutheran and a Catholic, and I've attended both churches many, many times before. I was baptized and confirmed a Lutheran, but I don't know...I haven't been to church since I was confirmed, and that was like two years ago.

All in all I think that religion can be a really nice thing, but hey, it's not for everybody and that's just fine.

When I said it's the most important thing, it's the most important thing. What I've always wanted more than anything in the world is a wife and children. I'd give it up for Christ... if I knew that was what was required of me. I'm a ministry student btw and if I had to choose serving in the church or having that dream, I'd choose serving. Many within the church even would not understand that.

If I do get married and have children, however, I'd still have Christ first (not the church first). Priorities: 1st Christ, 2nd Wife, 3rd Children, 4th Church, 4th, Self. Because of having Christ first I'd want to have all the other areas affected in a way that glorifies God and is in accordance to what the Bible says (example: take Proverbs into account when it says things like "he who spares the rod, hates his son").

Just because one has a strong relationship with Christ does not mean they can't have friends or have fun. I have many friends, both Christian and non-Christian. I try to increase the faith of those who are Christian and bring those who are not Christian into the Kingdom. I enjoy my life and enjoy serving Christ like I do.
