""Despite the fact that the New Hampshire audience broke out in spontaneous wild applause at almost everything the Congressman said, Fox News deliberately boosted the microphones of the other candidates when Paul was speaking, making sure the snickers of Giuliani, Romney and the rest were clearly audible.""

Ron Paul defends position to keep troops out of Arabian Peninsula.

Ron Paul describes woefully ineffiecent departments of the CIA and FBI, wages an attack the atrocities committed and civil liberties thwarted in the past few years.

Ron Paul defends the right for private enterprise to defend their assets and their customers, which should be a company's top priority. The US must decentralize

Ron Paul defends position of non-aggression with Iran. Diplomacy overrides war

Ron Paul vs. Mike Huckabee; Iraq is about saving face now. How many troops must die before "honor" is achieved?

Judge a tree by its fruits.

Thats a shame, why do you think that?

I think he is the only serious Republican candidate.

More than half the American public is against the war and all the Republican candidates are for the war except Ron Paul

Its ron paul or a democrat unless some very "bad" happens.

Ron Paul goes far beyond anti-war. That dude is an isolationist. His ideas of foreign policy went obsolete nearly a century ago.

That is not entirely true, he wants to trade with other nations and he wants diplomacy.

The reason why the middle eastern peoples hate us is because we have been causing a mess over there for decades.

For example look up Operation Ajax, I know alot you guys are in school and are sick of studying things but i personally think this is very important.

NATO is the only one I disagree with him withdrawing from. Last I checked, we don't need to be in the UN or the WTO to trade with other countries.

Ron Paul has an edge in consistency, but man, abolishing the IRS & the Fed, returning to the gold standard, and effectively terminating all spending for social welfare are pretty wacky positions. The rest of the Republican candidates have their own set of stupid ideas (some of which aren't materially different), but I think it's a little quick to declare Ron Paul the smart candidate.

So not going to war with every country that wants to develop weapons is a bad policy? He's said he doesn't want to meddle in other countrie's affairs and have trade be the focus on foreign policy. Lets fix the crap in our country before we go and screw with others.

Ron Paul is the best presidential candidate.... I don't agree with some of his conservative views, but he will definitely benefit the country the most in the long run if his policies are implemented.

I was comparing to the current administration's policy of fight first ask questions later. Where did I say Ron Paul favors invading other countries? I'm saying staying out of affairs is far better than getting involved which is what Ron Paul wants to do.

Pretty much everything he said got a rise out of people. I really like the guy. Giuliani can snicker all he wants but all night he just blabbered on about how much better off NYC got when he became mayor. That's great and important and all, but I want to know what he actually plans to do w hen he's in office. Ron Paul has it right because as he said, after the Fox news anchor accused him of taking his orders from the Taliban, thathe takes his marching orders from the Constitution. I really hope he wins, because all the other candidates from either party are just jokes. This next president is going to be taking the reins at a pivotal moment in American history, and I sure as hell don't want that to be Barack, Hillary, or Romney. They just don't do it for me.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, Mr. Paul would like to see the U.S. withdraw itself from (among other things) the U.N., NATO, and the WTO. To me, that's a big warning flag of an isolationist.

ron paul is an exception, but otherwise there is little significant difference between republicrats and demicans. they're all autocrats, and socialism is already the american way.

Income taxes are illegal? The Sixteenth Amendment says otherwise:

"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on income, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

the mccain feingold act set up a federal bureacracy to decide who can say what about candidates during election season. it's amounts to a federal speech code that protects politicians. not a good thing.

A lot of the cackling I heard I noticed came mostly from Giulliani. The sad part is that no one went to him to tell him to hold his tongue until it was his turn, but noooo. It was so unprofessional and disrespectful of him, it's no wonder why he's been divorced 4 times already

Er... The Fed is the reason the income tax exists? Congress had been trying to establish an income tax since the 19th century. The Federal Reserve Act was passed at the tail end of 1913. And spending more than we collect in revenues causes our national debt. The Fed controls our monetary policy, not our budget.

no idea who ron paul is but all i know is there will be a republican in office, all the democratic candidates suck, they just focus on children and want to give u universal health care, i have it and it sucks, u have 2 pay for it thru taxes even if u never use it, people who dont pay taxes abuse it too much; goin to emerg with colds or bandaidable cuts. id rather pay up front then be milk out of money all my life.

On the other hand, the U.S. spends more than twice as much on health care per capita as Canada, but our people are less healthy on average. Given that, it's hard for me to get too upset about the prospect of having to pay taxes instead of buying health insurance.

[QUOTE="Goose"][QUOTE="kyle_1865"]no idea who ron paul is but all i know is there will be a republican in office, all the democratic candidates suck, they just focus on children and want to give u universal health care, i have it and it sucks, u have 2 pay for it thru taxes even if u never use it, people who dont pay taxes abuse it too much; goin to emerg with colds or bandaidable cuts. id rather pay up front then be milk out of money all my life.giton

On the other hand, the U.S. spends more than twice as much on health care per capita as Canada, but our people are less healthy on average. Given that, it's hard for me to get too upset about the prospect of having to pay taxes instead of buying health insurance.

to be clear Goose, are you saying that you are in favor of socializing health care?

Oh, I'm not convinced Canada's system would work here. I'm not sure it's politically feasible to make such a drastic change, given how entrenched our current system is. I just don't think the issue is as simple as kyle_1865 is suggesting.

Ron Paul is the best republican candidate, but that's not saying much. Most of them are pretty clueless, except McCain, but he needs stand by his views better.GettingTired

I lost what faith I have had with McCain sense he bent over for Bush with numerous things such as torture.. He was a strong advocate towards going against torture.. Then out of nowhere he completely changed his mind.. In the end McCain in my eyes has become a finger puppet to the adminstration imo.
