This ministry was "moral majority" Something about that name reminds me of some 1984 stuff.

Against the Civil Rights Movement, wanted the church to take public schools "over again and Christians will be running them", was in favour of apartheid, and said that the Metropolitan Community Church should "one day be utterly annihilated and there will be a celebration in heaven." I sure wont miss him.

It's too bad he left a legacy of victimization. Hopefully his replacement is a lot more reasonable and sane, but I honestly think thats too much to hope for.

There'll be enough love by Radical Christians (or whatever his sect was) to outweigh the massive hatred.

Lets just say, there was a demonstration in the 80's I think where people had posters of him, and several other ... evil people, one being Hitler Across their faces was the word 'Guilty' in red.

What? That was other peoples' opinion on him. Not mine. I'm not to thrilled that he died, but that's one hate monger down.

And I don't eat fried chicken, I eat fried Capitalists.  ;)

Falwell was conservative, but he wasn't "radical," he was just a true Christian, and not some wishy-washy-politician-type "Christian" (long word, I know :D )

The early pilgrims tried a form of communism for a time, but realized the faults of the system, due to the nature of man.  Man isn't motivated by the "common good" but is rather motivated by the good of himself and his relatives.  Communism assumes that mankind is overalll is good and is prone to do good.

It still doesn't make it evil though.  Just a system that had/has/will forever be, a flawed system.

I don't care if someone is black or white, and neither did Falwell.  All you are doing is building up a strawman that is motivated by your hatred for conservatives.  Falwell is against the movement due to the fact that many of its leaders are socialists, and also preach a social Gospel while all the while putting up a facade that they are touting Christianity and the things of Christ, while all the while, they're for their own agenda.

Truth?!?  Jerry Falwell and those like him live in a twisted fantasy world where they're so blinded by their own self-righteousness that they think that they have the right to impose their fd up views on what is or is not "moral" on the entire world.

Communism is an economic, social, and religoius movement that has and will fail on and on again because people are too lazy to learn from their own history. If you want communism, move to China, just don't mention the things of Christ, and you'll be fine, to an extent.

You could state that Jerry Falwell was simply being a true Christian, in light of the idea that he was simply following the word of "God" closer than most would choose to.

However, it still doesn't make Falwell anything more than the anti-human victimizer he lead his life as. A deserving villain of history as any other that can be mentioned.

So political idealists should be suspended? I'm not a communist, but I also recognize that you ought to look at history as well - someone named McCarthy might be a good place to start.

You should truly be ashamed of yourself.

He was an enormous bigot, opposed the civil rights movement, woman's rights movement, and I'm sure has done quite a few other terrible things as well, he was a scumbag, he deserved to die.

That's where you're wrong. We all deserve to die due to our sin, but that's the wonderous thing about Christ, while we were yet sinners, He died for us.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 6:23

Yeah....Muslims say something like that, I'm not one to be motivated by fear though.....

doesn't change the fact that he was an ignorant bigot, or that the world is better with his death.

No, the Muslims want YOU to die for your sins, but Jesus Christ died BECAUSE of your sins.  He that knew no sin became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

So it's bad he fights for the truth? You like communism or something? Maybe if you stay on this course of ignorance you'll be suspended for another 7 days.

Do you know what communism is? Maybe if you stay on this course of ignorance you'll be seen as a complete idiot.

Communism is a economic, social, and religoius movement that has and will fail on and on again because people are too lazy to learn from their own history. If you want communism, move to China, just don't mention the things of Christ, and you'll be fine, to an extent.

So political idealists should be suspended? I'm not a communist, but I also recognize that you ought to look at history as well - someone named McCarthy might be a good place to start.

No, but slandering someone's character due to ignorance is rather disruptive.

I dont think blacks should be second class citizens, I think church and state should be very much seperated, I dont believe in segregation, and I dont like homophobia. He was the ignorant one.

I dont hate conservatives, I am usually conservative myself. What I do hate is mass-discrimination, especially if it is hidden behind all this socialism bs. He was opposed to the civil rights movement because it would end segregation. When it did, he looked around for something else to hate and started promoting the apartheid in south africa. As well as supporting effectively making blacks second class citizens, he also wanted the church to take over public schools. He called the Metropolitan Community Church "a vile and Satanic system" because of their work with gay people. He seemed to hate everything that wasnt religiously conservative. I sure as hell wont miss him, and I gather than lots of other people wont either.

They also tell be to believe in Allah and accept Mohamed as their prophet or I'll go to hell, something similar to Christians, I tend to ignore it in both cases, especially when it's being spouted by ignorant bigots like Falwell and Pat Robertson.

Honestly, if they are "true" Christians, then it honestly doesn't surprise me in the ignorance and bigotry the religion seems to promote.
