Share and discuss riddles. Here are two easy ones to start . 1010--11101110--31103110--132110132110-- What is the next number? next riddle , You are on a game show and are asked to pick a box from three boxes. Two boxes have nothing in them and one has a million dollars. The host knows what is in each box. After you pick a box , the host opens a box with nothing in it (but not ever your box) . The host then asks if you will switch your box for the other unopened box . Is there an advantage to doing a switch? Or do your odds of winning remain the same? Edit- Please excuse the horrid formatting issues

Another riddle from the web : The three wisest sages in the land were brought before the king to see which of them were worthy to become the king's advisor. After passing many tests of cunning and invention, they were pitted against each other in a final battle of the wits. Led blind-folded into a small room, the sages were seated around a small wooden table as the king described the test for them. "Upon each of your heads I have placed a hat. Now you are either wearing a blue hat or a white hat. All I will tell you is this- at least one of you is wearing a blue hat. There may be only one blue hat and two white hats, there may be two blue hats and one white hat, or there may be three blue hats. But you may be certain that there are not three white hats." "I will shortly remove your blind folds, and the test will begin. The first to correctly announce the color of his hat shall be my advisor. Be warned however, he who guesses wrongly shall be beheaded. If not one of you answers within the hour, you will be sent home and I will seek elsewhere for wisdom." With that, the king uncovered the sages' eyes and sat in the corner and waited. One sage looked around and saw that his competitors each were wearing blue hats. From the look in their eyes he could see their thoughts were the same as his, "What is the color of my hat?" For what seemed like hours no one spoke. Finally he stood up and said, "The color of the hat I am wearing is..." also , Two trains start one hundred miles apart and head straight toward each other at ten miles per hour. A bird, perched on the front of one train flies toward the second at twenty miles an hour. The moment it reaches it, it turns around and heads back. It repeats this process until the trains meet. How far does the bird fly total?

No. The numbers are simply separated by the dashes instead of commas . The answer will not include dashes.

In the internet age, you don't need to have skill, just google and you have tools. I remember back when I was kid, I had to calculate binary and have quick methods to convert. not anymore. now I just use "The Google" :)

Yea, that's not true though. If you do change boxes, you have to calculate the probability of winning the new contest, which is only between the two remaining boxes. The original ratio chance is not involved unless the option to change boxes is never presented. Yes, I've read the reason for the answer and like so many things on the internet, it is wrong. Your chance of picking the correct box between the two boxes is pretty simple; it's 1:2, while the original ratio was 1:3. I don't understand why people come up with these things...

The solution is correct. You still have 2/3 odds of being wrong. There are no new odds after opening the box ( at least regarding the decision ).

Another riddle , you are in a room with two doors. There is a man there with you. One door leads to nothing , the other to a million dollars. There is a note next to you. The note says that the man knows the contents behind each door. The note also says that the man either always lies or always tells the truth no matter what. The note is 100% true. You can ask the man one question. What is a question you can ask that will let you know the right door to open?
