I remember back when I was kid, I had to calculate binary and have quick methods to convert. not anymore. now I just use "The Google" :)

[/spoiler] LZ71Yea, that's not true though. If you do change boxes, you have to calculate the probability of winning the new contest, which is only between the two remaining boxes. The original ratio chance is not involved unless the option to change boxes is never presented. Yes, I've read the reason for the answer and like so many things on the internet, it is wrong. Your chance of picking the correct box between the two boxes is pretty simple; it's 1:2, while the original ratio was 1:3. I don't understand why people come up with these things...

The solution is correct. You still have 2/3 odds of being wrong. There are no new odds after opening the box ( at least regarding the decision ).
